Annoying bug

Post by ubica » Fri, 30. Jan 15, 14:30

So...
My frusrtation reached an entirely new high, after encountering this bug. I finally got a Cartell boss in an Arawn, so far they only have been in Titurels and Suls. I didn't want to buy Arawn since just buying a ship removes sense of accomplishment, at least it does in my book.
It was my first Arawn and it took me over one hour to kill all the turrets, had to go and destroy the engines a few times since drones repaired them and so on...
When I started the boarding sequence, the hull was at 90%, I destroyed the jump drive an my marines went in (42 vet, 8 elite).
Boarding resistance was at 420 at this point and all I have left on the ship were those small field projectors mk2, 6 of them in the front so I can have something to shoot at when prompted.
And guess what...a bug
When Yisha told me to destroy the first projector, the target icon appeared in the middle of the ship!!!
After god knows how many reloads, the same thing happens again and again, drone bay, projectors and all appear at the same and, of course, unreachable spot in the middle of the ship hull.
I don't need to say it, but all boarding attempts failed miserably.
Never seen this bug before, and it had to be with one ship that I really like...Morphy's law
Any such experiences?

If you could send a savegame I can see if it's a mission or asset issue. Or could it be that this force field projector was actually inside the internal hanger of the Arawn?

The arawn has an interior hangarbay, where you can fly into, maybe you missed that?

with 42 veterans and 8 elite have the need to lower the value of the hull to 10% or less. Just so you could reach a resistance to board that allow you to win a Arwan with that type of marines. If the calculations are not wrong, your attack power should have a value of about 80 and this value insufficient to counter the 420 from ship. To have a few losses should reach at least a value of 50 or less board resistance. Try to destroy everything (including six shields) and see the minimum boarding value that can reach (reduce the hull even at 1% if needed).

If Yisha will give the command "boards Arwan" test simply waiting for the next command. Usually it should not make you lose marines

With those marines and a 5* marine officer you should bring the boarding resistance to 92 to avoid losses.
Your attack strength is ~103 (according to 3.1 logic, dont know if 3.2 changes this).

You can kill the red tanks on the arawn that are untargettable, and also the 'wings' as i heard - to reduce BR further.

In 3,2 your marine strength is displayed on the Skunk's Details screen.

Got the resistance down to 99 and it went smoothly with hull at 1% and absolutely everything destroyed. 11 drones left so repair went rather fast.
No marine losses and one advanced to Elite.
My first Arawn :)

My first Arawn :)
The arawns a bit special because you have to destroy other things on it hull other than the typical turrets, force fields, etc... You can get it down to 54 boarding resistance.
