| I want to keep my savegames safe while I reinstall. Where are they and what are they called? |

The savegames are named X00.SAV to X22.SAV and they are in your My Documents\Egosoft\X3\save folder. You can safely copy them elsewhere and put them back in again when you've finished reinstalling. If you copy them to CD-R then remember to clear the read-only flag for the files when you copy them back again as it will probably be set and this may prevent you from saving!
