One of the devs mentioned Xenon only spawn up to 10 jumps away from sectors 101 and 472; this means that the Boron sectors at the upper left (Menelaus' Frontier thru Argon's Three Worlds) are (so far in my experience) entirely free of random Xenons, as well as the Great Reef sectors and Dark Waters...

Maybe. But the issue is that those capital ships only start to appear
It seems that the flag for enabling normal traffic into the starting sectors is triggered by the end of the battle and not by the gate connection itself.

They just appear out of nowhere. Exactly in the same way as rapid response fleets do. But this is not the question. They should not be able to reach this part of the universe until the HUB conections are restablished. At least this is what I concluded from Hola Ni's explanations.

Actually, the Split Harpy (M6) is the true killer ship. It is almost a "pocket battleship" with all those front lasers and turrets (9 lasers!!!).
