I do appreciate that this means there is a known fix, but when every pressed DVD is going to have this problem, would it not be cost effective for everyone to make as small a patch as possible to correct the issue? ES's bandwidth costs can't be cheap, and thousands of people downloading a 400MB patc...

Now try to work with pictures from your digital camera on that flat screen. *snip* The difference is astonishing, and the image quality on the LCD apalling. This difference isn't because the LCD's crap, but because it's better - it's showing up all the flaws that have always been there but your CRT...

There's a bug in the 2007 edition that renders falcons incapable of firing, which basically makes buying the 2007 edition pointless as you have to download the damn patch anyway.

I wasn't keen on it this week - the writing was ok and the acting could have been a little better, but what really got me was the sense of deja vu: it was the devil-planet plot shrunk to a single episode, and yet again the Doctor had to rely on someone else to save his bacon - this is a man who's an...

I think it's been said in some way by another poster, but for a proper fleet battle system we need proper fleet command systems, and for those to work properly we need a proper fleet management console - one that can be up onscreen AND still allow the player to pilot their own ship effectively, not ...

On the subject of news regarding future releases: Let us not forget that the gap between X-BTF and X2 was a good 5 years, with X3 coming as a complete surprise just over a year later - originally the PHQ was announced as an expansion for X2, but the advances they'd made when designing it ended up pu...

You can attain X-Treme ranking for combat and trading without starting in X-Treme mode; however, the goal of a real addict is to achieve all 3.

I'll go against the grain on this one and stick my head out and say i prefer x3, only recently i loaded up x2 and discovered how clunky the menu system really was, filling virtually the entire screen, in very bright greens and whites which gave me a headache after a short time. And i realised that ...

Happens with me too sometimes, I have to re-jump the sector in order to get flaks back to work. Unfortunately that means that i will have to spend time getting to that spot i was at before, which is annoying :( With the Khaak sectors i may not be able to jump twice to the same sector successfully, ...

I've been paying closer attention to my game, and I've now noticed that NPC Falcons also don't fire their weapons. This is going to make the Bala Gi missions nice and easy, but it makes a mockery of fighting them for any other reason. :(

Let us not forget also that Adv.Sats have cameras attached that can see everything in the entire sector... Yet their sensors cannot see past their digital noses! I happily played my old X2 game from the X-Treme beginning without ever enabling a single script; in X3 (maybe because of the bonus pack) I find it impossible to do anything without scripting, and then I feel like I'm not even needed. In X2, I traded whatever I could to make the best money, and earn...

My Cyborg 3d Gold has lasted me through XT, X2, and into X3, but now I think it's time is drawing to a close. The twist-grip rudder control has become very unbalanced, requiring me to either fudge the calibration or set a very large dead zone so I don't end up barrel-rolling all the time. Luckily, a...

I miss the X2 style of strafing... Sure, it was annoying that you couldn't turn and strafe at the same time, but it was much more intuitive than using the HAT switch! That and for some reason sometimes my HAT still changes the cockpot angle instead of/as well as strafing me - now that's confusing!
