No it's not total nonsense because the car must still be drivable at 1% remaining hull damage because that is what our ships still do. The ship can get you from point A to point B with only 1% hull remaining. So your car must be able to do the same job. Then fix the car (one still in production) to...

I always felt that X3 uses the entirely wrong system when it comes to manouvering with a mouse... See, ship's X/Y movement will stop right when (and where) the mouse stops moving, while, in my opinion, mouse movement should be a directional, not absolute placement/course indicator. Even the most ec...

If you didn't want to do the mission to get the TS (or can't because you aren't playing in the storyline mode) you can also kick start your cash by doing BBS missions - in your starting M5 you can transport passengers for 2-3k a time, or slightly more for the time limited missions. Not fast still, b...

I am fairly sure they are actually chasing after your passenger, not you. If you deliver the passenger to the destination then they stop chasing you and just start fighting anything in the sector, at which point you can help out. So you effectively have the choice of taking them all on yourself, or ...

I haven't got very far in X3 yet, but that sounds broadly similar to the way I worked through X2: * get a basic fleet for yourself (a few different M3, M4, M5, TS, TP) to do missions * start your passive income with UTs, get cash via some manual remote trading and missions * next build a few key mon...

"Boron running" is an equivalent message to several other races when they save "Shields are low, help me" or something similar. The bail messages are usually more obvious than that (although you still have to be careful, as the very moment your target starts to bail another opponent might fire a mis...

Most TPs fit an important niche as mentioned above - they are usually 50% or more faster than the lightest equivalent freighter, 10-20% faster than an M3, while having 3-4 times as much cargo space as the M3, and from a quarter to a seventh of the cargo space of the smallest freighter. Like M3s they...

You don't need the police licence to gain notoriety when killing pirates/xenon/khaak, it just gives you some money for the kills (good job 'cause you need a fair bi of race rep to buy it). Although it allows you to safely scan ships to find more pirates/smugglers in that races sectors as well, whic...

Hmmm....somehow I doubt that. What leads me to that opinion is that they, as I mentioned previously, don't have appropriate prefixes - "military" in their names. Or any prefixes as such. And all ships have them. :) Personally, I think it's a bug, but I sure hope someone has a better reason or expla...

One alternative is to use a couple of ships to do this - get a couple of M3s with reasonable speed/cargo free that you can leave docked most of the time until the area is safe, the get them to collect the weapons and missiles which make up most of the trash. The can be quickly switched to defend the...

In that table doesn't that miss the difference between PSG and most other weapons - when most shots hit the target, they disappear thus only doing that damage once per shot. For a PSG it keeps damaging anything in the expanding damage cloud each time damage is checked, so for ships caught near the c...

Stationary (Tower), but it is a bit old and barely capable - killing M5s in any sector with lots of asteroids and other traffic is more luck than judgement (although in an M3 it becomes just a matter of time, even with lag they can't hit you often enough to make a dent). Have a new box on order, hop...
