But they don't exactly "just work." They provide a framework for the port, but a lot of work still needs to be done to actually get the game running acceptably and to get everything rendering properly. VPLTD isn't just wrapping the game in the Cider binary and shipping it.

[X3:TC] OTAS Boreas weapons loadout suggestions.

I got a Boreas, and was considering what weapons to go with. Are PPCs still the best front-mounting weapons for M2s or are the Ion Cannons and Gauss Cannons good? Are Incendiary Bomb launchers any good for the left and right turrets, or should I load those up with the same guns I use for the front? ...

I had 2 bail on me... but then I stopped doing protect station missions because sector patrol is much more profitable.

Repairing them isn't worth the time.

Go to command console. If your ship has a turret, the item will be there. I believe it requires Combat Mk 2 upgrade.

I'm pretty sure this one calls for some sort of remark about idiot-proof systems and people that find ways to circumvent them. I mean seriously, stacking stations?

But yeah, sounds like collision detection.

Docking at station in Earth sector.

Spoiler
Show
I'm on the mission where I bring the guy from Aldrin to the station in Earth's sector, but whenever I approach the station, it warns me to change my trajectory, then blows me up.
How do I dock at the station without getting killed?

Get the Boron Ray! Its pretty good for a destroyer. I dont hav it cos i only got 9mil credits  but i rekon its better than a battleship! I couldn't stand the extremely low turn rate. I know the Argon Titan doesn't turn too much faster, but it seems more tolerable. The Teladi Phoenix would be ...

I don't know about a speed boost, but it would make sense if the weapons couldn't get damaged if they weren't out. It is always fun to fly a Capitol ship through a busy sectors just running the stupid freighters who never move out of your way over, until you hear that dreaded, "Gamma Photon Pulse Ca...

For me it only happens with the spacebar. Every other key works fine, but I'll hit space quickly, and it'll register as 3-4 spaces.

You can do a few things. If you start over, in about an hour you can get through the pick up Mi TON mission. When you land at Terracorp HQ, you can sell the 2x25 mw shields for almost 400k. This isn't cheating, the game knows you did it and gives you an almost broken mercury, but it is worth the tra...

At first, I couldn't beat it either, but I recently went back and tried again. My shields never got less than half way down, and I finished it with no problem. Use the strafe drive, it helps a lot.

I like Heart of Gold. An Infinite Improbability drive script would kick ass. You could teleport to any sector without e-cells but there would be a chance that weird stuff would happen to your equipment.

It should work... I can't say anything about performance. The problem is when you port a game you see a big drop in performance due to optimization. Companies generally can't afford to take the time to basically totally rewrite software to optimize it for PowerPC processors. I'm currently playing X2...

I bet a PSG would work well. If the PPC range is long enough, but if you have a ship that can equip PPCs, you might as well save time and have the ship fly through the broken gate. It works really well in a Titan.

Having just gotten a Titan myself, I can say it is a good choice. The Ions work quite well on M2s. Right now I have Mostly PPCs, but every turret that can fit an IonD or a APSG currently has one. To explore unexplored sectors, I like to jump into a Pegasus, and fly to the sector I'm looking for, the...

Thanks for addressing this. The scripts look really good. Is a non self extracting archive version available? We Mac users can't use the .exe file the scripts come in.
