Sorry keep forgetting its not in my profile any more - in sunny Scotland. Will have a look at the link once I'm on the pc rather than the phone. not going to install new i.e. 64bit OS until i build new system as that's the bit i hate about building a new system - installing all the old programs again.

Thanks guys - will have a look for a replacement graphics card although I'll probably go for something 2nd hand along the lines of the 4890 mentioned in the first post as I dont want to spend a lot of money on a obsolete system - especially given I'm not going to get that much time to play games in ...

PC upgrade questions - for X3: AP

Hi folks Got a question for you - I've got X3:AP (superbox) but not yet tried X3:AP out due to lack of time. Hoping to give it a shot shortly but given my system struggled with X3:TC I'm wondering whether there is any benefit in little upgrade prior to a full blown new system at some point in the (p...

It wasn't the lock that stuck, it was the normal sticky out thing that engaged and meant I couldn't open the door again. And no, couldn't find anything that would make it open from the inside Had to give up my man card and phone someone to come and rescue me.... mrbadger I would like to thank you f...

If you decide to try it post an update with the laptop specs and how you get on.

I've got a newish cheap Dell laptop (no idea of model number but its got an i3 in it) which I might be forced to try running it on in the absence of my desktop.

Sorry probably should have been clearer - I own all X games already (been around for a while!) except X3:AP.

Just to say I've been advised elsewhere that it wont happen. Maybe I need to find someone who wants the superbox and would swap it for a gift of X3:AP?

Thanks for all the responses.

thanks for the replies To answer the question about why would I register the superbox, it would be to get X3:AP. To be honest it makes no difference to me whether its a copy of X3:AP or the X Superbox as I get what I want - X3:AP. I just hoped it would allow me to gift the games I already own so som...

Question about registering superbox on steam

Not 100% sure where this should be posted but its kinda technical..... I've already got all X games up to X3:AP and have just received the superbox as a gift. If I get my standalone DVD version of X3:TC registered first - do I then get the option of gifting a copy to someone? If I register the super...

The one thing that gets me is either these bankers are smart enough to earn these gross salaries AND hence must have known exactly what they were doing OR they didn't and they are not worth much at all. I was arguing long before the housing market crashed that it weasn't sustainable as salaries were...

Hmm do I count as an "old timer"? I certainly remember Al. It's been a long time since little 16 year old me stumbled in here, bright eyed and eager to figure out this awfully complicated game called "X2: The Threat"! Probably just about ;) Am I right in saying that X2 was released at the same time...

I suppose, and in some way perhaps hope, that I do not count as an "Old Timer"? No offence intended towards anyone, of course. Offense? On the X-OT board? You'd have to do a lot better (worse?) than that  Actually I've re-read what you said and realised you said you hoped not to be counterd as...
