To be honest, some of the others are writing a lot of chapters very quickly and having each new chapter as a new post cluttered the forum. If you are only adding one a week or so then a new post is fine.

I think they were Privateers and not Pirates Fiksal. Privateers were given letters of Marque essentially allowing them to plunder the enemy ships even if the two empires were not technically at war.
