Actually the X2 - The threat was pretty moddable and there are texture overhaul mods for sector backgrounds, or asteroid textures, also there are conversion mods, P.X.D. mod as an example, or Firelance mod, both mods are for X2 - the threat. There are also different cockpit mods, turret cockpit mods...

Myself uses it for a long time now. Download Cheat Engine, target XRebirth.exe from the process list, then enable speedhack, and set it to whatever speed you want to use. There you have "SETA"! :D Enjoy! ^^ :D EDIT: Now we only need someone to make a mod where those ugly space highways are removed, ...

I prefer using that version of this mod which doesnt remove the cockpits. The largest difference can be seen definetely if you compare the old and the newer textures of the astorids. Old one had lower res textures, this one has much higher res, but also darker ones. The only one drawback of this mod...

Downloaded, tried it, and all I can say it is a wonderful addition to any mod installed. The new sector backgrounds looks really breathtaking, trully amazing.
