So since MS have announced W11 and more importantly HDR and Direct storage that will load assets directly to the gpu and not through the CPU will this improve performance or not? Unfortunatly this does not work as some ingredients are missing it may be my modded save but i was missing forcefeild units and matalic lattice and had to add this. like i said i dont plkay x4 vanilla so i could be wrong.

Also might help some people to go into task mgr and let x4.exe run at high priority and also set affinity to the most used cores that x4 utilizes. the way i see this is by using HWMONITOR. Yes i know this but this is not what is happening there is no station there the AI are trying to build stations it seems then quitting on them and spamming a new one over and over the whole galaxy is the same.

Issue seems to occur if the game is left running for 3+ hours, sometimes in the background with no input on my current save. Does not really apply to the topic creator because they use an AMD CPU which neither has Hyperthreading nor requires significant specter mitigations. AMD CPU's equivalent to Hyperthreading is Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). SMT, like Hyperthreading, should be left on unless you know what you are...

Overclock CPU. Enable XMP in bios (A must), disable cpy hyperthreading (X4 runs great on single core best cpus) , disable specter protection on your CPU. , Run full screen and make sure your GPU is running at max speed.
