Never did with XT, and didnt get into the habit of doing it pre-patch. So Im one of the No camp.

That happened to me pre patch. I basically got into the habit of reloading/rebooting every 2 hours or so. Pretty much resolved that problem. Havent had an issue since the patch.

all the good sectors for mining have too many bag guys in them so I havent tried it yet. I *do* have a ship sitting waiting for me to feel the need though...
