What about attacking those occasional red pirates when being in friendly terms with the rest of the pirates? Does it affect pirate reputation? Also, I'm curious if attacking pirate ships in missions affects reputation with them? So far it has looked like my reputation with the Yaki has not had a hit...

If the unlabelled option in the Input Options screen (it says TextIDNotFound) doesn't help (it has something to do with multiple controller axes) then I'm afraid you are out of luck. It doesn't. It only switches 2 of the working axes around, nothing else. More specifically, it disables axes "Rudder...

Still no support for multiple controllers?
X2 evolved to X3 yet it still lacks the most fundamental thing in any simulation: support for multiple analog controllers. I really love that the Egosoft boys managed to implement all those wonderful ways to control strafing, view panning and such with analog axes. We hardcore simmers that are bless...

just next time I'm going to get a Saitek, as I can be a little harsh on the stick, and I want a durable joystick... plus it comes with a giant throttle (x52). Three words: Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar. And two words more: cast iron! If you manage to break it by being harsh on the stick, I congratulate...

I would've opted for not to register if this community wasn't so hostile towards non-tickydisced members. Not to mention that people are pretty much "forced" to register if they want to get their hands on officially signed add-on scripts. I'm fully, 100% supportive to the guys that feel like not reg...

That suggestion about using 'ship parts' sounds good as it would simplify the process and more importantly make it a bit faster to replace ships in the game. If the AI demand for ships was to be implemented I think it would require a lot of rebalancing work in the universe to prevent any ill-effects...

You don't need to have played FL to know the answer to that. It is famous for not having joystick control. ;) Touché! :D The only space sim that I know of featuring both decent joystick and mouse controls is Universal Combat. However, the game is famous for being a perfect example of how to screw a...

This system would have the benefit that you can't "stall" the whole economy by wiping out all AI freighters once, you'd have to keep doing it That's the beauty of the whole idea: by regulating supply you can regulate the amount of ships going about in different areas of space. Another aspect that c...

A question: I've got seven MkIII sector traders, and after installing 1.4 I swapped two of the more experienced traders (level 10) over to being Universe Traders. However they are not equipped with jump drives. Will they equip themselves with jump drives after a while, or do I have to do it for the...

Completing the trade loop - AI demand for ships & eq
I posted this idea to DevNet ( http://www.egosoft.com/x2/forum/viewtopic.php?t=56779 ), but wanted to post it in the public forum as well to stir up some discussion. Most people here are not reading DevNet and the ones that do are intimitated by the strict DevNet rules ;). Still I'd like to have thi...

How about upping the mass driver damage a bit further in your mod? In 1.4 they seem to be pretty much useless against anything else than an M4. There's currently discussion going on in the DevNet forums about the issue and the general consensus seems to be that they are either horribly overpriced or...
