I'm starting to ramp up a bit of a mobile mining operation for the crystals, and now my ships are also taking on Minerals. What exactly are you supposed to do with Minerals? I can't find any use for them, or any station that buys them. Are they just trash?

The second post (on the first page) lists the changelog, and above it, the save game compatibility options. For 3.1, it's YES

Interestingly, the "Full" logistics template does not include waste or food. But I think those are pretty important to add.

According to the encyclopedia, when a trader sells something, it locks that item at the destination. For example, a factory needs 3000 waste and your trader wants to sell 3000 waste to that factory. Fenrir is nice. But I prefer the Cougar.
But in general it depends on my Race. I try to stick to the ships of 1 or 2 races at most.

There is a best ship for every play style.
For example, personally I think the Appallox is the best M6, and the Kvasir is the best M7.
Other people think they suck, and they are just as correct.

That M1 only comes when you attack the station. So do as you always do, attack traders instead. If you attack the TS in the same sector as their factory is, the M1 jumps to a gate.
