Also some people have tried that fix and the bug still occurred. I am in the same boat. Waiting for patch to continue playing.

I would try to disable your onboard sound card and see if that helps... Running 2 at the same time is kinda pushing it.

No CTDs for me either. Only problem I have ever had other than framerate is once just before I was about to go through a jumpgate I looked at a station's details in the sector map just as I hit the gate. It froze up on the black screen while warping.

Erm... As I didn't see this mentioned and although it is common sense I just wanted to make sure you were all doing this test with EAX disabled. I have seen this greatly affect my FPS in other games.

There is supposed to be a BBS mission on the trading station. But it goes away if you don't head there fast enough. Go to the Silicone Mine in that sector and com the manager.

Try going to the Silicon Mine in Thuraks Pride and com the station manager. You can do this even if you don't get the BBS mission. If you think the cut scenes are bad now. You would have been APALLED by X2! I guess after playing X2 I am at least satisfied with the current cutscenes.
