Yep, 4 sectors per cluster work well, but above that you get UI issues. I think some of my videos showed this in the WIP XR port, but I don't know where. Best of luck with this cool work!

Thank you both! The main reason I did this in Blender is it comes with some great random spline generating, and I was provided code for exporting those to X4/XR format. I'm not sure if those images used them, but I think the splines are pretty cool.

X4 has a great shader system for planets that allows very easy randomization, and I finally made a "procedural generator" for planets in XSLT (with a bit of Python for tiny mesh edits).
