Just watched your (?) video (two Ody E against Xenon I) from two weeks before: I think, the ships AI wants to go in a certain direction for whatever reason, and it turns the ships to do that. And this comes into conflict with aiming. It would be interesting (but not very enlightening) to test this ...

That is unnless they fix the AI and make them reliably use their fixed gun in a fleet battle. I still don't understand why capital ships in low attention are so much better. Viewing the ship from the station provides an excellent perspective on its scale.
Personally, my favorite is watching the XL ships depart from the production module.

I have intercept wings staying docked through everything by adjusting the launched/docked setting for their group(s). Early game, trying to get any L-sized military ship for trading purposes is quite difficult to get to (outside of that one abandoned Oddy, I suppose.) Just guessing, not tried follow groups since I assumed that meant they would not dock, and didn't want that. As it stands, there is no method to keep a subordinate consistently docked on the capital ship except by giving the direct order for the subordinate to dock. All subordinate groups will undo...

Aha; in this case, it appears that my colorblindness is giving me an advantage here, as the type of colorblindness I have means red looks much dimmer. I'm not sure which color is used for the flashing part, but the red part should be crosshair_shield_damage, so you could try changing that to, say, ...

I believe the most apparent answer involves streamlining the trading system to reduce its consumption of system resources, thereby enabling other AI to update more frequently.

of course it will. It will extend the mid-game which is where most players get the most enjoyment. If obtaining a destroyer is harder, then the game is harder (by definition) I think you also overestimate what 1 destroyer can do to a xenon sector. You could get a syn from TER plot and 1 Syn vs 1I+6...

However, it shouldn't flash red; it's too difficult to discern, especially when the lost shield is also indicated in red.
