I have civ 4 on my computer... only two games on it since formatting, are civ 4, and x3... i have crappy, awful framerates from the newest patch, then 1.2 was just fine, relatively. What could civ4 have to do with anything? Not sure. But after installing civ 4, x3 would not work until i re-installe...

I have just reinstalled x3 and patched to 1.21 and its now seems o.k Now to see if it runs better!

My p4 2000 with 512 ram and ati 8500 64mb is a bit slow for x3, so I have gone back to x2 for a while until I decide whether to get a new graphics card and increase the ram to 1gb, or get a new pc.

Any recomendations for a new card that will cope with x3, and cheapish?

Home and End works. Found that after reading the manual (need a magnifying glass), following much cursing and swearing, when "E" didnt work.

I have two centaurs in PE and they deal with anything thats been thrown at them up till now. Can get a bit hairy at times but they prevail!

One Centaur is often enough. I keep my M3's for flying personaly, that when I am not in my Osprey.

What happens if theres a great big (Insert station of choice) there already?

If you cant wait for the J's energy to be used, gets its ID tag and jump into the xenon sector and take it out. Would not try it in an M3 myself, but my Osprey works fine. But for extra profits, take out as many of the smaller ships in sector first, as the payment is based on number of ships killed....

I have a loop in Redlight producing quantum tubes which does good buisnens. Its a leaky loop, and also sells to the AI in some case. Consists of (from memory) Silicon mine in ringo moon, SPP x2 Cattle ranch x 2, cahoona bakery x 2, crystal fab x 1, quantum tube fac x 1

Its not the AI! Its the stupid pilots you employ. You know, the ones that will jump their 25 level galaxy trader into a Xenon invasion, xenon sector or khaak sector. Or will sit in a fully stocked SPP moaning that they cant find any energy cells. You probably dont pay them enough, or perhaps you pay...

SPP's are the most profitable. My Silicon mines do not make huge proffits particulary in the short term. Mine are only there to feed crystal fabs and other highend facs that need silicon. Without Silicon, no Crystals, without crystals, its lights out in your facs and there all working a 3 day Wozzer...

My home sector is Presidents End, nice and clear and one Silicon asteroid to start of the loops. Pacifying Elenas Fortune is the next target to get at the silicon there.

Other homish sectora are in Red Light and Resivours of tranquility.

I understand you need to be within 2 sectors of xenon space for any chance of one to appear.

The Sector planner has the information, but probably not in the way you want it.

There is a list somewhere of all the factorys but as far as i remember it only shows the higher end ones, not SPP's, cattle ranches etc. Think I found this on the sticky above some time ago.

I restarted after around 15 days in 1.4 due to a mistake buying an M2. Played the restart for a couple of days, but returned to the previous game at a slightly earlier save.

I always wait for a while in station and re-check the boards. Missions come in a bit late sometimes. While I am waiting I check on all my ships etc.
