This is weird: If I play the plot I can not leave Argon Prime sytem, when I enter a gate I get sound effect then error message. Game will not let me load as Aspriing Explorer- error message. Game will let me load as a merchant and go through gates! Game will let me load Assasin and go through gates!...

It crashes from a new game, just as you go through the south gate to meet up with the new recruit flight during the first mission.

Installed 1.3 today, it looked much better and smoother than 12.01 but then I went through a gate and it was hello microsoft popup "X3 has encounted a problem..." I thought this was an ancient bug sorted out ages ago, any ideas why I'm seeing it now?

Fighting and trading is all very well but I'm still wondering what happened to that whole "Exploring" thing. How about jumping into unknown sectors to hunt for resourses or colonizable planets for a reward? Finding alien artefacts etc....

I believe that the reason why cosoles are looking more and more attractive is the relative stagnation of PC technology. Instead of new processor types we get hype about "dual cores". Years back the Sega Megadrive really didn't make many PC gamers pause for thought but look how things have reversed! ...

There seem to be fewer new games coming out for the PC compared to the consoles. Even shelf space for the existing PC games seem to be really cut back. They are unpaid, overworked and probably haven't spent as much time with their families/social life as they may have liked since X3 came out. Just go look in the technical forum and how hard some of them try to get at the bottom of individual problems and try to remember just how popular this forum ...
