Re: Any solution for trading food rations an Avarice?

Another possible but expensive solution would be to claim the sector by out constructing defense stations with administrative centers. That way nothing would be illegal to you. I think that is how the interactions would work. Would also need to destroy admin modules on NPC defence platforms, along ...

Re: Capital shipmods / Station mining

It just seems illogical for them to be 'working' for a factory, and also 'selling' to a factory. Think it's mostly just done that way so there's a single system for resource acquisition. However no money changes hands if it's one of your ships offloading at one of your stations. Furthermore it can ...

Re: Capital shipmods / Station mining

Do I have to set up buy orders even if they are working for a factory in this manner? Yes. Same system is used irrespective of whether the station's supplied by NPC miners or your own. If you want the station to use your ships exclusively you'll need to configure a trade rule to apply to the releva...

Re: Sometimes I feel that modular space stations are not a good idea

Whatever GCU claims is totally his personal experience without any solid proof, many players have pointed out that the AI sometimes selects a module on the far side of a station and ends up getting destroyed, and this was clearly an issue until version 6.2. That's over 10k hours of personal experie...

Re: [7.0 beta 3] VE Goggles feedback

In general have been finding the VE goggles exceptionally useful. Very glad they're back, if anything they're much more useful in X4 than they were previously. Have primarily been using them to target & snipe subsystems on capital ships, often from very long range (10km+), for which purpose they are...

Re: Zero piloting skill increase?

There's alternative way to train 4 stars pilots - via terraforming. If you build flight school to planet then you can train 100 pilots per cycle (material delivery + 20 minutes of training) gain 1 star (max level is 4 stars). Then you just need improve their morale so they become better pilots and ...

Re: Sometimes I feel that modular space stations are not a good idea

The behavior of capital ships remains consistent as long as they are equipped with front-mounted weapons. That was not my experience at all. Would agree if we were just discussing destroyers. I have my favourites, but performance is broadly similar. Asgards on the other hand really suffer from thei...

Re: Sometimes I feel that modular space stations are not a good idea

In this video, it's clear that the Asgards should be maneuvering to the left or right of the station, as it's the closest target. However, they are attempting to move across the station instead. Ahh - Asgards, that would explain the difference. Don't use them myself. Very sluggish ships. Just not w...

Re: Alternative Existential Crisis

So... get a scout, crank up the engines and send it through one of these gates travelling so fast that nothing can touch it. Drop a nav satellite or two near these super production facilities. Dock a fleet at HQ, teleport in. Repeat as needed. Does that win the crises? Guess that would be an issue....

Re: Alternative Existential Crisis

If I was designing an existential crisis think I'd use the Hub. One pair of gates linked to an otherwise inaccessible cluster of resource rich sectors containing a LOT of Xenon ship production capacity & supporting infrastructure. Remaining 2 pairs of gates would link to standard Xenon sectors, shif...

Re: Sometimes I feel that modular space stations are not a good idea

Players can only control their subordinates, which leads to low efficiency, especially with larger fleets like 5-10 destroyers. Ideally, player should spread them evenly and order attacks on different station modules. Coordinated attacks can achieve similar results, but players cannot select target...

Re: Sometimes I feel that modular space stations are not a good idea

UI is way too bad to micro-manage the fleet properly. Players could not target individual modules or ask the ships to stay in position. It is possible to do this if the player's flying the lead ship in a fleet & has subordinates set to 'attack'. Then it's just a matter of choosing which module you ...

Re: Future request: make use of secondary weapons

Boron, Borong, Boring? not that far apart from another :D  Quite the contrary for me. Have always found them to be some of the more interesting ships to use. Generally strong stats across the board for everything except guns. Meant you really needed to think carefully if you wanted to go to wa...

Re: Sometimes I feel that modular space stations are not a good idea

You have never been pissed of that your flotilla is unable to simply execute the order 'destroy the station' without all the mess? Nope, not in the slightest. Indeed I gain a significant amount of enjoyment from planning my attacks on stations; deciding the optimal approach angle, setting up my fir...

Re: Future request: adv. satellites gives info

Or at least option to set satellites to 'blind/silent' mode when they would report only enemy ships/trade not cluttering the map and not eating resources. There is an option to turn off satellite coverage in the 'other filters' section of map filters in the top-right corner of the map screen. Gets ...

Re: Future request: make use of secondary weapons

I see you are having a lot of fun... Well I would be, but current game is Boron & they don't make a frigate... :( Instead I'm lumbering around in a Ray. Hydra can't carry enough torpedoes, Thresher only has a single main gun & I do prefer a ship with an S dock (another of my favourite features of t...

Re: Please make boost energy separate from shield

If memory serves even past X games separated them, no? No, all boosters in past X games drained shields. If I recall correctly XR boosters functioned in an identical manner to those in X4. Boosters were also present in X3TC & AP as a mod which was eventually incorporated into the bonus packs. In th...

Re: Sometimes I feel that modular space stations are not a good idea

I want to know if making the module wreckage destructible will reduce your gaming experience.I don't think that will affect your gaming style, you can still use your methods. I don't think you would object to my proposal. There's still an opportunity cost. Would take dev time to make such a change,...

Re: Future request: make use of secondary weapons

Hitting the wrong button is in your case torpedoes etc, I hardly use them and find them absolutely not handy, and by the time it takes effect, you are out of ammo, something in the heat of the battle not wanted.... They are quit effective against the player, but the other way around not so much. Th...
