I never bother trying to pick the drones back up, cos the chances are, they all get killed by the cluster they're taking on.

You can't set separate buy/sell prices, so they're never really going to make you a load of cash.

I use them to store wares for when I need to equip ships.

Fighter drones are great as a distraction. I have 15 in every TS/TP, and they keep the enemy occupied while my ship runs for it.

I've got a BuyWareBest/SellWareBest which uses the jumpdrive to go anywhere in the galaxy. It has the options to avoid any sector with Khaak M4/M3, and to only buy from your own factories. It automatically buys speed/cargo bay upgrades, and will fly to the nearest shipyard if hull % falls below 85. ...

for me, it's the docking computer that goes the most often.

afaik, it only works with sector Mk3 Traders, and, possibly, BPH.

You could put factories in the sector to complete a lop, and thus negate the need to fly through the HEN.

If you saved, you can jump another ship in, order it to jump home, then transport the jumpdrive over before it goes.

Are you sure you collected all the pieces?

Leaving it set to "attack all enemies" is all well and good, but try it in a Khaak sector, and see how long you last once an M2 notices you.

If you want pure profit, buy wares from the local trading station, then sell them back at an inflated price.

could you set up a "chain" of stock mines from one side of the galaxy to the other (say 5 jumps apart), then have TS's running between them?

For raising rank, take a little jaunt into Khaak sectors. Don't bother going without an Oddy, and a full compliment of crew and PSGs, though.
