So, what do we have so far? Dr says he is going to die 'tomorrow', so a fixed point in time, yes? The tesselator operators said that his death was a fixed time too. Death date is 22/4/11. Rory and Amy have been gone from the Doc for some time if Amy is now a model (so we are assuming that the Closin...

BTW, to join an existing group you go to the section where you add a new group, then start typing the name ('Egosoft' in this case). It does an auto-look up as it goes, then just click on one you want to join.

Anyone play Call of Duty here?

Hi, The beta of Call of Duty Elite is running at the moment, going live once Modern Warfare 3 drops in November. You can see stats, performances and the like, plus form groups, clans and take part in competitions etc. I'm creating an Egosoft group just now, so anyone in the beta feel free to join, a...

OK, loved that one, won't repeat what's already been said. But one major annoyance. Matt Smith's hair. Anyone notice the way the parting kept swapping sides, particularly early on? Either seriously bad hairdressing continuity, or someone flopped the film (do they still have real film to flop? i don'...

OMG. It would have been marginally less catastrophic if he hadn't just patted her on the shoulder and said what a 'good family' she had. Within the election team, if the person 'Sue' or whoever it was, WAS going to get it in the neck for making him talk to that woman, that's nothing compared to what...

Very good episode I thought, 'typical' moffat perhaps, if there is such a thing yet. And I have to say that for the first time this series , Matt Smith IS the Doctor, instead of just trying to be him. Seems more settled in this one, not quite so snappy, some good chemistry with co-stars and so on. H...

Bit of a cop-out with the 'one ship escaped' thing, but at least now (hopefully) we can rid ourselves of the perpetual "daleks show up from nowhere, big battle, all destroyed" routine. I'd like to see them set themselves up again as proper persistent baddies, with a home planet etc etc. Some good in...

I think the problem with this one was that it felt like a 60 minute-r condensed into the usual timeslot - someone mentioned before it's the first one of those for ages (though Moffatt has written both singles and doubles before). It felt like they were just getting cranked up when they realised they...

"Shrike while the iron is hot"

"One Shrike and you're out"

etc., etc., etc.

I'm sure we can think of plenty of bad puns if we try...

("Pre-emptive Shrike" is still the best of the lot though... )

Cheers,

Rob.

Nah. School say the phones aren't allowed. They will always go back to that. They know people will still bring them in though, and so make a provision to at least keep them out of the exam room where they could be used as a cheat device. Bottom line is, and this is 'reasonable', school are not respo...

Alastair Reynolds' "Revelation Space" novels are excellent. There are several in the series, but you should start with the 'trilogy' of: Revelation Space Redemption Ark Absolution Gap There are other books in the same universe. 'The Prefect' is a snappier story set earlier in the timeline, while 'Ga...

Gah! But maybe, as others have hinted, a quick escape? Spacewalk or Transporter (was one of those was ever captured intact?) Still, if it is the end it closes the circle nicely. Mak the Split ganked by the Boron, after Squiddy the Boron was sushied by the Split. But nonetheless, great storytelling. ...

Yes, good luck. As Marsie says, no-one will do an interview 'just because', as they take up far too much time before, during and after. Most decent employers will recognise that most people don't enjoy interviews and will factor in a certain amount of nervousness. Don't overcompensate by being ridic...

Sorry to hear about the redundo Al. Here's something you might not have considered - Teaching. Lots of routes into it at the moment, with plenty of paid work to be had while you're still gaining the necessary qualifications (which aren't too many if you have a degree already). Perhaps not where you ...
