have you tried tilting the map view?
It might be that the pirate ship is way above or below the ecliptic plane, outside of the 40k radius of your ships.

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
How am I making billions in credits, buying everything(including foods/meds for my workforce), if I'm always selling ships for less than what I'm buying components for? How you are making several billions with just 2 shipyards is indeed beyond me. Are you making excessive use of SETA and it thus fe...

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
I think we had quite not so terrible ones a few posts back tbh. As for shipyards right now: They're outrageously stupid and nonsensical. Nobody ever would sell a ship worth 1.3 mil for 130k when one single adv sat the ship carries in its cargo hold, is already being sold for 150k. As I have said bef...

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
So just allow to adjust anywhere from 1% to 150% from the 100% baseline of 3.3. Made a request for exactly that several months ago. Very unpopular idea, few responses, don't recall any of them being positive. Thread sank like a stone. Ah yes, instead lets just hardcode it to 10% much better than gi...

You're not being coerced... Ego is making changes to the game that they believe are for the better. You may disagree, and that's fine... but you're not being coerced. Sure you can ignore the fact that what you enjoy is no longer possible, an economic choice, feasible or even just requires a ton mor...

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
Wow, 14->180? Really? What on earth were you doing? If I had to guess huge mega-complex supplied entirely by a single low-yield core sector, totally reliant on the bug which meant that miners would continue to gather resources even in sectors which were utterly depleted? This was in a medium ~250 m...

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
However I think it is more desirable to have it be harder to make money from a shipyard than not with so many additional ways to generate cash in the game. I mean you could argue that shipyards were not as well thought out as they could have been when introduced...but steps have been taken to corre...

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
To be fair it is a single player game so you could MOD to avoid some grind. It's a single player game, so no need to nerf the game to death and force everyone the grind that very few people asked for (if any) or enjoy. If you want more grind, you can always mod the game to add more too... Similarly...

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
Why would anyone sell a complete (!) ship with weapons, shields, equipment 3 Sats, 1 Adv Sat complete together for LESS THAN what one would have to pay for a single Adv Sat? Or sell an entire ship including equipment, weapons, etc. for less than what the bare hull is worth? That's a stupid business...

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
Shipyards are still stupid profitable, even shipyards that have to buy every single item they need to produce a ship. My two shipyards in my current save, that buy everything they need from the map, average between them about 750 million EACH every game day. And that is with a unified paranid, and ...

Re: -->Grind Does Not Equal Interesting Game Play...
As a result you now need 10+ times the amount of ships on your stations, building a wharf or ship yard is entirely pointless as it will simply never reach its ROI anymore in a single persons lifetime. On top of that you have to deal with manually finding and killing Khaak installations every couple...

Never really bothered with crystals, as finding them was way too obnoxious and grindy from the get go in my experience. Sure if you stumbled across some by accident take the money, other than that so there's better ways of making initial money, that is less grindy and annoying. However I do generall...

Re: Question - Resources needed for ship building?
Ever since 4.0 it isn't worth getting into wharfs or ship yards, except for when you want to wipe out races while still being able to utilize their ships. It sinks trillions of credits to build and get blueprints (on top of many many hours of gametime), and gets you close to nothing. With 4.0 it wil...

Re: SCA plunderers keep destroying my traders even when they comply
If you do want to use auto trade order, you may want to use Split ships as those are so fast that the pirates cannot keep up. They also have mediocre hull though, and are even easier to destroy for pirates. At least I am constantly losing split ships to SCA. I do notice ships like to be sitting in ...

Re: X4 4.0 need help with trade rule
To unload L ships either the ship itself or the station needs cargo drones. Otherwise L ships cannot trade with the station. Which Pier you have does not matter, you can use 1 Pier, T pier, E pier, or the 4x Split pier. All that matters is that it is a Pier, which is the only place for L ships to do...

Re: Asks for more difficulty? Sure, but please make it optional
I too was living the dream for about the first 100 hours Now that I am sitting on 5 billion credits and can print basically free ships as fast as I want them, it is kind of boring. I must be doing something wrong / different. Least I'm not sitting on 5 bln after way more than 100 hours. Also cannot...

Re: Ego soft needs to fix mining and khaak fast.
This system is completely broken because you can't currently in anyway automate how you deal with khaak and dealing with them personally is poor use of your time. Before introducing such a mechanic you need either (or better both): - To have way to defend against khaak (make ships on patrol command...
