unscripted, with 1.3 (start from scratch), took me 2 weeks to get a fully kitted M2 out and fielded (got the weapons, items, etc first, then bought it)

Was a huge feeling of satisfaction when I did :) and yes, its the money/weaponhunt that's the problem, not the rank.

1.3 with the less-asteroids mod (starting a new game, trust me, 1.2 will spoil you with it's easy difficulty WAY too much) is perfect :) never had problems since (cept for when my cat jumps and starts rubbing against my joystick and so causes my ship to barrelroll straight into the closest asteroid....

The thick nebulae look most likely will come soon :) the lighning thing, I doubt it, since it'll be an effect that may be considered weaponbased in origin to the AI :/

I can imagine heavy-nebulae sectors will be adjusted for the heavy-nebulae look of no stars but all thick and mucky nebula :)
