So, since Breaking Bad is ending I was just asking myself, wouldn't it be cool to have Breaking Bad in space, so.. is it possible to run a candy empire with space factories cooking and selling some alien substance (blue colored :P in X Rebirth?

was that possible in one of the earlier parts?

We'll definitely see illegal wares and hopefully more illegal factories. In fact I want to see certain weapons and missiles and such be illegal unless you have the rank in that certain area of space. Of course if it is your own then sure go ahead and do what you want.

Yet I want to see what we do in the universe again have direct input. So for all those other factions selling space weed, y'all better be prepared to lose them facilities when I come!

There is a cocktail glass icon (looks like a Martini glass) and a weed "leaf" icon in the vids.

In Bernd's trading video he tags one of them and they show up in the menu on the Skunk.

Imho 'weed' and 'fuel' are not a 'Alien illegal substances'. But i'm playing X over ten years, and I don't see any substances of aliens origin ;)

Sure, smuggling would be cool, but crime factions in X Rebirth that compete with you would be even better. Imagine the satisfaction of eliminating them as competitors.

Considering we could do just that in past games, I'd be surprised if we can't in Rebirth. :wink:

Of course there are factories for it. There always have been. They have talked about it being in Rebirth already and even provided a screenshot of it.

I'm hoping licenses actually play into the legality of wares, i.e. certain high-end products (particularly weapons) are illegal to manufacture/trade in certain areas without the proper license. It would add some nice depth to trading and piracy if we can choose between the two.

I wonder if there will be military raids on player complexes to keep down the supply of illegal drugs and weapons?

Not that I would ever run a violent mafia-esque empire, that would just be wrong.
