Interesting
Yes.
I have been using the lowest graphics settings only because of what you just mentioned. Although I did not have an "unplayable" game before 1.3 either (the way some have described their X3 experience). Even though this recent patch smoothes things out for me greatly, I still decided to go back to the lowest graphics settings, just to keep me safe in those battles, which are a lot more frequent now, it seems.

But now, the game is at least playable in most areas for me, even in Xenon sectors (I can even enable glow with my mid-range PC) or Ore Belt.
The only sector the game dropped to like 1 FPS is Savage Spur. But I can live with that as I don't really need anything from that sector.

in that top pic that planetoid looks more like a squashed watermellon in that resolution
just wondering, ive seen lots screenshots of X3, but none of them had any really beautiful colours, always browns & greens "rather bland".. are there any really colourful systems like in X2?? how about brennan's triumph?

Aaahhhh.... 'tis always good to see more widescreen users
They still need to get that FOV sorted.
Myself I turned off the post processing, for reasons apparent in the last image: I think those jumpgates look horrible that way. Gets even worse when the planet's behind the gate.
But anyway - could you perhaps use thumbnails for those images, or links like acrh2 did ? These things mess up even my widescreen layout.

Perhaps you need a monitor that can display 1920x1440? Downsizing images will reduce quality dramatically. Hover with the mouse pointer over the image in Internet Explorer until a cross appears in the bottom right corner of the screen (just 1-2 sec). Click on that cross to view full size images.Fekin wrote:Umm...
Im running on low settings, and frankly, I don't really see any difference to mine
