I am not sure, but I think you can do them from near the start. The enemy is set more powerful as you get higher fighting ranks. But you might need a minimum rank first. And you need decent guns and shields.

Not common at all in X2. Many hours spent looking for the first one.
However once you find the first one there is a way to ensure easy access to future XI missions.

When you find a station with an XI mission, don't accept the mission straight away. If you wait while sitting in the station additional XI missions will spawn in the BBS....and they will remain until you take em.
You only get paid for one mission at a time and it can make money a bit easy to get hold of.

Yes and no.BoronSticks wrote:Yeah, but that one's sure a game spoiler. Learning how to script in a billion credits would be only just barely easier.
I agree it does provide almost limitless potential to earn cash, but you still have to fight for it.
I did use this in my first game, but it was more about gaining combat rank than the cash.
IMHO it is a feature or exploit just like preventing the Khaak invasion or cloning additional weapons / shields in X2. Then again you don't have to use it. The great thing about the X series is you play it your way

Actually, i think it's more of a game saver. The BBS mission system is flawed IMO. After a thousand hours or so, a player really shouldn't have to rely on blind luck to be able to do what they want, when they want. Randomisation of missions is a bad idea.BoronSticks wrote:Yeah, but that one's sure a game spoiler. Learning how to script in a billion credits would be only just barely easier.
On the off chance i ever see one, i think i'll do as Zathos describes and let the XI missions multiply a little. It's not like i HAVE to do them all right away.

Well hey, whaddya know, i got one. Trouble is, it was in my new game as a pirate and not in the game i wanted it to be. What's even more of a tease is it happened the very first time i entered a station in a valid sector (Ceo's Sprite).
Anyways, a quick question: Does accepting a XI mission make pirate bases hostile? Three times i accepted and three times the pirate base in New Income (the one i need to gain access to Anarchy Port) turned hostile for no other apparent reason. Is that normal?
