X2 Collectors Edition contains?

Post by Pinger » Thu, 9. Dec 04, 11:03

Is that the game card version or does it include Xtension with it? If not having Xtension then how about a bundled version for The Return release with all Three as the collectors edition?

No, unfortunately X-Gold is not included.

Yes, I've suggested a collectors edition with XBTF, XTreme and X2, but it seems there is a legal problem with THQ.

Egosoft should consider to buy back the rights from THQ.

What is different in the collectors edition? I clicked on the link but it is the same as X2 the threat.

Not sure myself. I bought X-Gold (XBTF and XTension) for just over 4 quid at Amazon. Good deal.

Probably the collectors edition is already 1.4.

Maybe one of the devs/mods could shed some light on this?

May be a bit expensive now X2 was as successful as it was.

Well what makes this a collectors edition, along with the game, which will be patched upto 1.4, you get two more goodies. One being a DVD in German, along with a copy of Nopileos by Helge Kautz.

The Collectors edition will only be available in Germany for the moment, there is no word at this time if the Collectors Edition will hit shelves elsewhere.

Aye, those pesky Germans get everything... Personally, I'm thinking that EgoSoft will release another collectors edition when they roll out The Return, I'll definitely get that if they do. Will lower the volume of the screams when I accidentally break the X2 CD in a couple of years...

But it would be nice to have a special collectors edition now....

basically the germans have a collector's edition because, among other things, the book is written in german!

I don't think they wanted to seriously look at translating the special stuff until they saw how it sold in germany first

What's the Nopileos book? In the game I have a loop (plan on having an extra loop there as well), but I'm curious as to the history. Is it online?

Nopileos is a German-language novel written by Helge Kautz. It is the sequel to Farnham's Legend which is in the process of being translated into English. There is no information on when, or if, Nopileos might be translated.

Oh, I see. Anyway, I hope Helge finds time to continue with his great work. Maybe there will be a surprise later on. Who knows?

I would like to see a final edition that includes all the patches, fixes, bonus material, editor manual all on one disk. Especially for the US version I started out with.

Be glad that Germany, UK and other European countries (including our Eastern block / Russian friends) are still making good Thinking Man's games since the US market is flooded with simple, dumbed down games anymore.

I have a load of PC games imported from Europe. Even a Spot of colourful Languages, I learn. 8)

PS I hope "Silent Hunter III" ist ganz gut.
