Did they take away the script editor? I can not open it in the newest version. I get to Thereshall and after that menus start to open.

Erm, no, they didn't. If you're using an older save game in which you had enabled it, then the script menu options should already be there. If you have started a new game then make sure you are following the instructions exactly - e.g. flying in space, not docked at a station.
