Thats one of the nicest gestures I've ever seen a company make, well done.
If only the other companies were so generous...

pixel, I donated to Medecines Sans Frontieres as I think they are one of the better ways to help people around the world. At least they don't have 80% administration costs, more like they make sure at least 80% goes to those who needs it most. And beware of scammers who are trying to line their own pockets (some have no shame at all ).

The shortest X² joke.
A boron cried: Help, I'm drowning!
The silliest accidents in the X Universe.
A Teladi bit himself on the tongue: since then he's had a speech impediment and lisssssps.
A Paranid lost his life surfing. He was riding a shockwave.

Dear everyone.
Fulhamfcrock asked if Egosoft can do this what could/should the likes of EA be doing.
Well, on Thursday night I posted in the Sims 2 General Discussion forum that very question. "A rival software firm, Egosoft, have donated E1000 for the tsunami relief. Are you going to do something similar?"
It the first time since then that I've been on the internet and I CANNOT FIND ANY TRACE of my post in the Sims 2 forums!!!!! (and I did a complete search). It must have been deleted.
It seems that the generosity of the likes of Egosoft doesn't go as far as EA.

Nice one ES.
I suppose that means I will HAVE to buy your next game release too now though, just to show you guys that I like you.
Very good idea to show yourselves as real people rather than a faceless corporation...
...what was the new game called again...
...something about a return or whatnot isn't it?

I heard of one country, a tiny island somewhere which had only gained independence a few years ago donated a few thousand, and their annual income is only a couple of hundred!

The 350 mil is from the GOVT. The rest of us are also giving individually. And trust me... people give. Some just a few dollars, some a few hundred, and some a heck of a lot more.
We also tend to end up giving more over time. I heard Colin Powell say that from what he saw, if more were needed, the USA would help.
Instead of getting mad that one country only offered X amount, be glad that they are offering what they do. Getting mad at people for not giving is what created the "do not call list" in this country (there is only so many times you can take someone telling you how much you should give and insisting that you have to give before you stop giving at all - and they always call at dinner. Somehow, when you plan to give, but then someone tells you that you have to do so and how much, it doesn't feel like giving... more like taxes... and we all hate taxes.).
Be happy for the fact that most people do want to give and to help, and the fact that being good people, we will likely donate more by the time this crisis is dealt with.
I could make comments about what countries AREN'T giving, but a mod asked to avoid the political stuff so...
Instead, just keep your fingers crossed for all those poor souls who are going through thier own personal hells right now, give if you can and are able, and hope for the best.
And thank you to everyone who has given, if not to this crisis than to any other one that has pulled at their heart at a time when they had extra to give. That includes you folks at EgoSoft...

Nice deck of cards. I sent an order for the boosterpack and the other one. Hopefully my bank won't screw it up as I used all the information (I don't use PayPal).therjw wrote:it these things http://www.egosoft.com/shop/default.asp?cat=12Darth753 wrote: Nice one Ego, we're all one big community really  .
