thats why i said he copied itCBJ wrote:Hmm, that FAQ entry now looks remarkably similar to the first post in this thread.
not all, but a fair chunk
and i didn't mean to be insulting, i just pointed out a fact.
anyways a phonetic guide would be good, if tricky to actually do!
and thanx for puttin AL up on the FAQ. wen i first heard about AL i was really confuddled, and the FAQ was the first place i went to!
It always irritated me, personally. You got the impression that either the script had a typo when they were recording the audio, or the person who did the English voice wasn't a native English speaker and got confused with the "ei" in "Seize".CBJ wrote:Personally I preferred "size-well".
On a related note--why did they change the cool sounding "Light Home" into the much duller "Home of Light"?
Whos scabbing hmmm? I DID the slog for the stuff that's in the FAQ. That's also WHY I made the thread. Cause I noticed a lack of info around.Nividium wrote:chovy, u scab, use ur own research, or at least make it more believeable that u did!!!
something that isn't there is AL
AL = Artificial Life
ok, so its most likely in the faq but meh
Anyway, thanks for putting all that in the FAQ CBJ. I'm sure that'll help some of the questions now.
Got another one for section general ---> IIRC = ??
Question - When has anyone here mentioned MARS? Should it be taken out of the FAQ? (i.e. too old to go in this FAQ?)
Question #2 - Is there a reason why you have two "General" sections? Could one of them be named differently for clarity, or combined? or doesn't it matter?

I was looking for the TLA FAQ, just to see how easy it was to find. The TLA FAQ is under X-Tension, and no where under X2. I was wondering if you might like to add a link from X2 as well?
Edit: Nevermind. It IS there, just hard to see.
I'm also gonna copy your FAQ too, cause I like the way you've written it out better....hang on a sec...Why don't I just delete all my top post and put a link....hmmm
Opinions guys (and gals if any ) Will it be more useful and answer newbies questions here, in the FAQ, or both?

I've also seen OM and SM used for Ore and Silicon Mines. I also tend to use MM, WM, DM, SM and HM for the missiles, but I think that might just be me.
NavSat is also missing.
SDS, BPH and AEGIS: for those that use signed scripts.
N, S, E , W: North, South, East, West

At least that could be explained in the answer.

I believe Best Price Handler is one of the most common ones.CBJ wrote:Added most of the above. The problem with BPH is that no-one, not even the author, actually seems to know what it stands for. Various "unofficial" names have been adopted, but none of them is definitive.
SDS has been colloquially known as Station Delivery System. As for AEGIS, the whole acronym stands for "Airborne Early warning Ground environment Interface Segment", but somehow the name "Assault, Early-warning and Gunnery Interface System" would fit it more, considering there's no "airborne" or "ground" in space. in space, noone can hear you spacewalk.
NB: It's Navigation, not Navagation. And the full name is (Advanced) Navigation Relay Satellite.
