Map Revealer?

Post by Phazaar » Thu, 29. Dec 05, 20:44

Anyone know of a script/mod or whatever that would reveal all sectors (or possibly even place navigation satellites in them all)? It used to be in the dev debugger for X-tension, and would be really useful to me now, having set up an entire business over a period of weeks and then having to replace my hard disk -_- I'm left now with a crappy little Argon Nova to try again in, and really cant be bothered with all of the exploration rubbish when i've done it before :P

Any ideas?

Hi,

Check this file :
http://anarkis.fxnetworks.org/AAA.cheat.satrelay.rar

Unrar (winrar, powerarchiver or 7zip will do the trick) in the "scripts" folder
Open the script editor
highlight the file called "AAA.cheat.satrelay"
Run it (press R)
select "null"
Done

An advanced sat will be placed in the center of each sector, and you can also check your logbook for small stats about the universe.

Enjoy :)

is there a way to redestroy them as well? Having sattelites everywhere is kind of cheating to me, I just hate exploring and want to have the whole galaxy explored.

If you know how to script, just add a line in after they've been created that destroys them. Spawning them and then killing them will display the sector.
If you don't know how to script, you can learn the basics by reading the information in the tutorials sticky.
An excellent first place to start is the MSCI scripter's handbook.
I'd estimate 15-30 minutes with that reference and you'll be able to alter the sat script the way you want, so that it doesn't leave the sats.
Cheers.

type Thereshallbewings (note the capital T) while flying in space to activate the "Script Editor" menu item in the command console. A confirmation beep will sound on correct activation.
From the stickied topic about the script editor.
