How to set up Gmax to run with X2 Editor

So I have Gmax version 1.2, as well as DBOX2 version 1.3, and YAGG, as well as X2 Editor.

First question..I get a prompt to ask me which driver setup to use with Gmax...and I select 3D-max, but there's also OpenGL(?) and another one that starts with an H (I'd have to reinstall to give you the exact names)

I get everything running, and X2 Editor is working great, but when I go to select a file from V...Gmax keeps giving me an error.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Is there any information on setting all this up someplace?

Update on this one:

Okay...it looks like what I needed to do was activate DBOX2 through the utilities menu in Gmax. This opens up an interface that allows me to import & view BOD files from the menu.

So I'm making progress here!!

I get 00940.bod open...and basically what I'm looking at is a 4-sided pyramid laid on its side. So apparently I have some learning to do about how to manipulate these files.

I'm going to do some rooting around, but I'm seeing that quite a few of the tutorial links are broken. Any hints as to where best I can go to educate myself?
