FLRET_FIREFREE and !Fight_Attack_obj are the ones you really need to get into imo :)


If you do get into collision avoidance then rememebr the further that you set it the weaker the laser combat becomes and you must also tweak laser range.

I really don't know how to get into collision avoidance. Just where is that located? All I have done is almost totally rescripted the !Fight_Attack_obj script. There is limitations but now the AI will at least ack like it wants to live and does a fairly good job of it.

We have figured out how to get the new AI in the game so we will be working on that and should have it out soon. The plain is to have just player vs enemy battles running the new scipt and all out of sector battles still using the old.

actually it will be a while..there are several other files linked to the one file I have replaced ..those too will have to be reworked. Unless someone knows just how to replace a egosoft signed file with an unsigned one.

Check your email, there's an easier way to do it that rewrite them all.

and on the plus side, I see there's no need to do the broadcast commands.

Great! I have been trying like crazy to get that to work with a xml editor but it want. well at least with the one I have. But good old notepad does the trick...cool cookies !!

Actually yes, something along that line. THere will be pilots that gain skill as he advances..if its possible to code we will do it. Right now just trying to tweek the AI so it will give you a good ACE dogfight. If we can do that, then we can tone it down for like newbie pilots and then raise it up as they survive fights. It only seems logical that there should be pilots as every other race's ships is controled by pilots also.

Yeah, its kinda a dream of mine too. You have some sweet ideas might get you to help out with ideas when we get to that stage. It all seems possible to code with what I have seen the code do. I just wonder what Egosoft has in store for 1.4 and the expantion. Hate to work on something they are already working on? Keep your ears open.

I have all the scripts in the game that will run the new combat AI..and am testing it to make sure of no crashes. As soon I am sure of that I will post them for download.
