Nvidia N6600. Great little slideshow maker. All my tech is a few years behind. Am buying a house soon so it may be some time before i rise out of the stone age.

have just negotiated with my wife, if we budget for a great sewing machine, I can get a new pc for the same value. I think im going to find her one that can manage time travel.

Guess we got all got brainwashed by the giant spinning disc logo. Myself it was partially out of habit going with the familiar. Also partially a probably ill concieved perception that Nvidia Cards and drivers might get along better with X.

A combination of how well my 5900 did, (and it did do surprisingly well), and the fact that i now use linux. Ati is a big fat pain in the ass in linux....

Well, my old rig had a Radeon7600SE, and I wasn't too thrilled with it. Crashed sometimes. Still, I wasn't really for either company, but when I saw the offer for the 7900GX2 at half the price of a 7950GX2, but same speed, I couldn't resist.
A comparable ATI card would also have been about double the cash.

Nvidia made the first DX10 card available for under £200. :P

8800GTS 640mb.

Bought it just after the HD2900 was released and it was clear that although the design from ATI is more elegant, they don't have the horsepower to show it off to it's full potential.

For once as well, image quality on the Nvidia cards is now superior to ATI - certainly been a long time since that was the case.

I have a Geforce 6800 GS in my main computer, although only a 9600 in this one (I'm about to see how this machine plays X3). The 6800 is working fine for now, although I might upgrade once the next line of cards comes out (X3xxx, Geforce 9xxx).
System:
AMD Athlon 64 3700+
Sound Blaster Audigy
Geforce 6800 GS
A8N-E Motherboard
2GB DDR RAM

OK, just kidding with the Voodoo thing...

I have a Radeon Mobility X1700. I know, not much compared to what you guys have, but I think it's pretty good for a gaming laptop.

Love the card though, can't fault it. Except that Stalker STILL won't run...

a 9700 non pro... one of its microchips has gone loose and fell from the card some months ago. I do not know how it still works perfectly (with some artifacts occasionally...but easily solved with a restart!)

I read the front page and wondered where all the Series 6 runners were. They're on page two. Guess they're not so keen to show of their manhood, er, I mean, Graphics processing potential. ;)

As for the Nvidia/Ati question, I run both, 6600 in my desktop and X300 (IIRC) in my laptop. Both manage X3 just fine. Well, the laptop goes a bit slideshowy in big furballs, but since combat using a touch pad is rather tricky, that's not something I ever do.
