Ouch

I still have 2 more PC's to get going - just haven't had the time. I think I might add another project to these 2, any suggestion as to which would benefit the team the most... ? ? ?

Einstien could use a few more cpu cycles.

I really hate to say that since I am slowly closing the gap on you.

I think there are a few of the serious "Farm Boys" moving over, looking at the stats.

By the way - a warm welcome to softweir and BSA[ESS] may you crunch well and bring the team many cobbles :)

I agree with you Froggie... there has been quite a lot of the "farm boys" moved over in the last couple of months... & it's not been helped that my pc count & therefore rac is way down too... some of the newcomers have way silly racs!

A warm welcome to softweir & BSA[ESS] from me too... may you have some happy BOINCing!

I sure hope they get this connectivity prob with SETI sorted soon.....couple of machines are running out here.

This one at least will have a few extra cycles for Einstien :)

I'm thinking of upgrading to an Athlon dual-core when they come out, which will help a lot--this old 2.4GHz P4 (had it since January 2003, which I think is the longest I've ever owned a CPU) doesn't cut the mustard anymore.

From the Seti page:

It looks like our Cogent link is down again. Campus has been alerted. The data server is unreachable until this is fixed

Yay I'm up to 17th!

Got a 64 bit 3200+ in February and this has done more in 2 months than all my others have in the last 6!

Trouble is, the people in my house always log off completely, so the BOINC client is very rarely left running (except when I use them :)), anyone know a way to solve this?

Set it up as a service--the instructions for doing so are on the SETI website somewhere.

The Seti forums are reporting some strange problems with the beta clients, although I haven't had any I would avoid anything later than 4.35.

If setting up as a service, you have to have a password set on your admin account or it won't install as a service properly. Also remember to stop the service in the control panel, before you upgrade the client at any point in the future.
