7600gt, which is a fantastic card. Done pretty well with nvidia. Had my old 5900 dustbuster for over two years before that, and it took everything i could throw at it, including fear and far cry, (though it did start to creak a bit at that point). The one thing that ti did fail on was oblivion, but thats fair enough. Actually, i tried to run oblivion once on it, and it never worked properly again, which is why i ended up with my 7600gt. Poor old thing.
But seeing as i am a poor student nurse on less than £6k a year, my good old 7600gt will have to last a while yet

As it would happen, I just upgraded the day before yesterday. After being forced to do so by my previous pc refusing it's daily duty.
So I was in a hurry and bought anything that was readily available in store (i.e. didn't have to be ordered).
The best video card that met this requirement was what I have now, an MSI NX8600GTS.
It even runs Supreme Commander pretty smoothly on max settings over two screens

2x EVGA 7800GT @ 256MB each. Very nice, but I'll have to replace them soon. Man did I buy a PC at the wrong time . . . Geforce 8, AM2, Intel dominating CPUs etc. . . .

8800GTS and god it shifts, definately worth the 200 quid it cost. Halflife 2 Episode 1 runs stunningly at full detail and 16X AA 16x AF and is still very playable. Something in FEAR seems to slow it down, seems to be volumectric lighting as far as I can make out. Also Stalker does seems to slow down after a while for no particular reason, it's not excessive but enough to annoy having what is probably one of the top 3 performing gaming cards available.
