I celebrate the Christian festival of Christmas, commemorating the birth of Christ even though I know . .

* There were always midwinter festivals, long before Christians existed.
* Jesus was almost certainly born in Spring rather than winter.
* The Nativity, as we know it, is almost entirely incorrect in a large number of ways.
* A great many of my friends are not Christians and thus have little reason to join our festival (though they're certainly welcome to if they wish).

Still, it's a great time of year. So to all who choose to celebrate, Merry Christmas! If you choose to celebrate any other midwinter/midsummer festival, enjoy that too! And if you say "Humbug" and sit at home, have a great night! :)

Yeah, have a good one really. I have to work today. Need the cash for shiny things I'll be wasting my money on this holiday.

2 Christmas curios:

1) I have the best brother in all the world. After several months of persevering with X3R while everyone else is bragging about their TC exploits, I now hold in my hot little hand the Gold box! Thanks philip_hughes!

2) My wife and I can now say we've entered the ranks of veteran parents. All parents have had to assemble a dolls' house or a scalextrix race car set on Christmas eve, but few can match the almost machine-like precision and efficiency with which we assembled a trampoline, complete with enclosure, for the Usenkolets. Can't wait to see their faces tomorrow morning when they look outside!

Oh, and since I'm probably one of the first (if not THE first) on this forum to actually encounter December the 25th . . . .

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Woohoo!

Edit: Okay, not the first. Winter Dragon was before me. But still pretty early. :)

No, they already have christmas, Winter Dragon is in NZ. Have fun! Only half 4 here, so at least 11 hours till I wake up to Christmas.

Oh, and felter, you sure that's not against Forum rules?

Still got a few hours to go but.... here's my special stuffing recipe :-).

500g sausage meat
1 roughly chopped onion
100g cooking chorizo (they gave me two kilos by mistake :o )
Breadcrumbs to the right consistency
Sage, rosemary etc
Juice of one orange
I can't breathe.
