Can i "park" the Mercancias?

Hi whilst learning the game I have been following the campaign right up to the point I defended a station from a Reiver attack....which awarded me the Mercancias. It doesn't seem to be handle a crew as I can't dock with it. Can I park it up whilst doing missions as a few times whilst doing so I have lost it to pirates?

Also I don't seem able to repair it...how can I do this. My intention is to leave the campaign for a while to do station missions while I build up some cash.

Any advice is appreciated :)

You can't really park any ship as in docking them at a station like in previous games. Next best thing would be to move it close to a Cell Recharge station (the refueling ones) as those have good and compacted defenses to fend off pirates.

You should be able to repair it at a small ship dealer although personally I never used small ships as they are way too fragile. I'd sell that and buy a capital ship if I really wanted to trade.

Ty for the advice. My considerations were as you said parkit near a station as attempted security or secondly sell it. I've yet to see an option to sell it...how do I do this?

Here in Devries. You need to contact a small ship dealer to repair but I think you can sell it any of the capital traders as well.

M traders have become quite useful for delivery missions since they've got the speed upgrade that came with patch 4.00. However, DeVries isn't really a good system for that.

I'd keep it next to the shipyard in Darn Hot Air, since it's usually a well defended zone. However, Andoulline's idea of the cell recharge fac is pretty good too, since these stations do pack a punch.

Otherwise, I think Albion's rep is locked just above the point where it would attack your trade ships on sight. (Can anyone else confirm this? It's been a while since I did the plot.) That means you and your combat ships are shot on sight, but your traders should be able to go through just fine. So moving it to Albion and letting it run some trades with non-PMC stations might be a good idea if you have some trade agents in place. That way you can reap some profits from a distance, while doing your stuff in DeVries. Just make sure you escort it through those Reiver-infested zones.


As for your other questions:
-Every ships can be repaired at shipyards, by contacting the appropriate ship dealers. (Small ship dealers for M ships and smaller, L and XL dealers for the respective capships)
-The only crew M or smaller ships and carry is the pilot. You can't dock to the ship to assign the crew, but you can still do so by talking to the pilots you carry in the back of your skunk.

A hint: if you want to store a ship safely, move it to an 'empty zone', i.e., outside of any named zones. Put it in your squad, fly well outside of any zone until the zone is named 'empty zone' and tell it to leave your squad. Pirates and other nasties won't fly outside a named zone to attack your ships, or stations for that matter. Many players build in empty zones for that very reason. And once you do build in an empty zone, you have the option to rename it.
