[- UPDATE -] Camouflage Device ST1 - Version 1.05 04/14/2011

Post by SpaceTycoon » Sat, 23. Apr 05, 00:56

Newest Version:
VERSION 1.05 - 04/14/2011 Download here: Camouflage Device ST1 V1.05

The new version uses file "setup.camouflageST1.xml" instead of "init.camouflageST1.xml".
If you use this script up from the former versions,
its VERY important to DELETE the init.camouflageST1.xml in your folder "scripts" after installation of this new script!

Scripts run in X2 Version 1.4/1.5 only! Bug-free since Version 1.00.

You can download this X2-Video (38 MB) to see how this device (and my Navigation Software ST1 too) works.
With a click at following link: http://www.terra-sf.de/Xenon%20347%20-%20Camouflage.rec
The Video is recorded in the German Version of X2.

Yes I made it.
This device don't make your ship invisible. But the result is like this.
Its a hack in the ships computer of an enemy ship which fools it you are neutral and not foe.

So no enemy ship will attack a ship with this device installed and activated within a range of 15.000 meters between the enemy and the camouflage ship. Important! In command menue you must set the last option (Show as enemy if enemy to me) to "Yes"! If this is set to "No" the Device will not work like expected.

You can buy this ware "Camouflage Device" only at TerraCorp HQ and at the three secret (hidden) Docks of Paranid, Boron and Argon.
The device is functionable for all ships.

After installed in ship you can activate the Device as follows:
- Go to command menue of the ship
- Go to one of the both command slots at "Additional commands"
- Press ENTER. Choose "Camouflage Device active" - ENTER.

To deactivate:
- Go to the command slot "Camouflage Device active", press ENTER.
- Choose "None" - press ENTER

In active mode you cannot target a missile to another ship.

Version history:

Version 1.05 - 04/14/2011:
1.Initialization script changed from init to setup.
It is important to delete the file "init.camouflageST1.xml" in folder scripts after copy the files of version 1.05 to your scripts folder.

Version 1.04 - 08/17/2005:
1. Automatic change of race relation
Not all races are changed to friend anymore like in Version 1.03 (see below). The two races Goner and Unknown are left alone. If their setting is 'foe' it stay 'foe'. Because I use this two race-settings in my other scripts to perform special functions. So these settings should stay like player selected.

Version 1.03 - 05/14/2005:
1. Boardcomputer speaking
Like standard X2 commands the boardcomputer now speak to the player by activation of the device.
2. Automatic change of race relation
By activation of the device now the relation settings of the ship to all races are changed to 'friend'. It is still neccessary to set "Show as enemy if enemy to me" to "Yes" because this function cannot set by script.
3. Changed language xml
To avoid conflicts all of my scripts no longer share the same language xml file (until now the 4x7777.xml). Now each script gets it's own xml. So now this script use the language xml "4x7778.xml" and page-ID 7777.
4. Installation (init-script) corrected
Corrected the mistake that the device was installed at all Equipment Docks and not only at the four stations.
5. Enclosed manual changed/enhanced
I changed and enhanced the enclosed manual.

Version 1.02 - 04/26/2005:
1. Script arguments
The .player script starts the .enemy-script with the neccessary arguments.
All settings are made now in .player-script only.
2. Documentation
In .player-script are remarks included for documentation.
3. No more double start
Now it is not available anymore that the device run twice in both command slots.
4. No function without ware
If you transfer the ware "Camouflage Device" to another ship the function is not available anymore. The same if the ware is destroyed during a fight. If the ware is gone the camouflage function is gone too.
5. Wait-Time
I reduced the wait time of the player script to 3 sec. (3000ms) and the wait of the enemy-script to 6000ms (6 sec).
With timer "20" in player script the complete runtime of the enemy-Script is max. 2 minutes then it ends itself. It is important that the enemy script ends itself - otherwise the enemy script would run endless if the player stops the camouflage on his ship.

Version 1.01:
If camouflage is active and you fire laser to a ship, for this enemy ship your camouflage will disappear and it shoots back. For other enemy ships nearby the camouflage still working.

Does it have things that make it auto shutdown? Firing weapons I think would make someone blink. You must explain. Otherwise I'll tell Tarkin to let go of LV's "leash".

This device don't make your ship invisible. But it seems like this.
Im guessing it just somehow hides your ship via the script editor

No. Things like that are not scriptable.

May be I misspelled a little bit. The result is the same as invisibility.

You can download a X2-Video (38 MB) how the device is working (and my Navigation Software St1 too), with a click to following link: http://www.terra-sf.de/Xenon%20347%20-%20Camouflage.rec

is this also usable for your, lets say assault teams .. just cloak em .. send em out to invade enemy space .. and be sure that they will strike first?? ..

would be fun to garisson a fighter wing at your station(marks FC MK3)
and have em cloak as soon as they get in a certain range
than decloak and fire as much miss and shots as they can fire
would make a couple fighters very dangerous..

Yes it would indeed. Imagine the threat with there most powerfull cluster warp in cloak and go after someone and decloak right in front of you, and firing all the keyon emitters they can, and you the player wouldn't stand a chance. Talking about an advanced combat system then hey. :P

*Cluster decloaks in front of my split dragon and fires...*

BZZZbzzZZZZT-"CRUNCHSMASHCRASHBOOMCRUSHSMUSHCRUSHBASHCLANGSLAMKLONG!!!!!"
Roadkill?

No more cluster....

I rammed an entire supercluster at top speed. They didn't take to it very well. In fact, they didn't take it.

I'd rather see em "auto-cloak" when they get in a certain range .. this also for the Khaaks ofcourse ..

would be fun .. you cloak to hunt down a cluster .. but it just spotted you before you cloaked .. and it cloaks too .. than youre both trying to find what you cant see ..

Yes indeed. It works in all ships.
But you must take care about the setting "Show as enemy if enemy to me" in ships command menue. This must be set to YES.

No, that doesn't matter. In your own ships you can set the enemy race to friend or foe just like you want.

Friend in German: = 'Freund' | Foe/Enemy: in German = 'Feind'

In my game/in video I've set all races to friend (= Freund), yes. But this setting doesn't matter for the CDevice.

In the language file 447777.xml in folder /t is the complete text for all of my scripts enclosed. To use the camouflage device only, rename the original 447777.xml to 447777FULL.xml. Then rename file 447777CamouflageOnly.xml to filename 447777.xml.

Changes in Version 1.03 - 05/14/2005:

1. Boardcomputer speaking
Like standard X2 commands now the boardcomputer speak to the player at the activation of the device.
So now this script use the language xml "4x7778.xml" and page-ID 7778.
4. Installation (init-script) corrected
Corrected the mistake that the device was installed at all Equipment Docks and not only at the four stations.
5. Enclosed manual changed/enhanced
I changed and enhanced the enclosed manual.
