SETA - Singularity Engine Time Accelerator (allows you to increase the speed of time to make distances shorter, basically increasing game speed so you don’t have to wait so long for 100K journeys.

PPS – I assume you are referring to SPP, (Solar Power Plant), if you really do mean PPS, then sorry I don’t know either.

I tried looking but surprisingly I could not find an X2 Glossary of terms and abbreviations, there must be one around or in planning.

Well, in game it's very obvious - the weapons etc are listed in full in displays (i.e. not "HEPT") as are things such as SETA.
Strung out on Britain's high, hitting an all time low

Alright, off the top of my head...
XBTF/XT:
IRE - Impulse Ray Emitter
PAC - Particle Accelerator Cannon
HEPT - High-Energy Plasma Thrower
SETA - Singularity Engine Time Accelerator
MARS - Motion Analysis Relay System

ETA (in ship menus) - Estimated Time to Arrival

X2: all of the above plus...
PSG - Pulse Shockwave Generator
PPC - Photon Pulse Cannon
MD - Mass Driver
ID - Ion Disruptor

E.T.A. also appears instead of eta (greek letter) in some station names. presumably someone did a search/replace at some stage, frgetting 'eta' had two uses. Most amusingly, the mistake is carried over into Traders Tale which I was reading on the bus this morning. I got a few looks when I burst out laughing. :wink:
