[- UPDATE -] Navigation Software ST1 - Ver. 7.01 04/14/2011

Post by SpaceTycoon » Sat, 23. Oct 04, 14:48

VERSION 7.01 - 04/14/2011 Download here: Navigation Software ST1 V7.01
Scripts run in X2 Version 1.4/1.5 only!
Mandatory: If you used this scripts before, you must delete the file "init.navsoftwareST1.xml" in folder \scripts after update!

Jumpsoftware for Ships (Playership and other) with automatic fueling of Energy cells.

More Information:
If you use this software for jumping (playership or remote control another ship) neccessary energy cells are automatically loaded into the cargo bay of the ship. The payment for the loaded energy (16 Cr. each cell) is taken from your player account. This Software is available at all EqDocks and Pirate Stations for only 1.572 Cr. You can buy it for every ship which is able to use the jumpdrive.
Ship must be equiped with Jumpdrive too to make it work.
You can perform an in-sector jump too with both commands, if you equip the ship additional with boost drive.

The software enhances your navigation menue with two new commands:

Jump and dock
Use this command in your navigation menue to choose a sector and a station or a big ship to jump into the sector and dock.
Also jump and dock inside the same sector.

Jump to position
Use this command in your navigation menue to choose a sector and a position, jump into the sector and fly to this position.
Also jump to the given position inside the same sector.

Features
--------
Up from Version 6.03: Audio messages and sound included. There are several audio messages during jump and if errors occur. Also performing of sector internal jump companions with a sound.
--------
Up from Version 6.00: You can jump inside the same sector to a choosen position to kill Khaak or Pirates. Or jump inside the sector to a choosen station to dock there.
BUT: The ship must have installed not only the Jumpdrive. To perform this sector internal jump it needs the Boost Extension installed too. This In-sector jump cost 120 Credits, taken from the player account.
The duration to perform this jump is about ~4 sec.
All follower ships/escorts with jumpdrive and boost extension will follow their leader the same way. With cost of 120 Credits each. The escorts don't need to be equipped with this Navigation Software to perform this.
--------
A remote controlled ship messages the player that it is arrived. If you like to deactivate this, buy the SETA for this ship. A ship with installed SETA never sends an arrival message.
--------
You don't want one of the functions above?
Just drop the item (Boost extension or SETA) out of ships cargo bay to space.
--------
If you own a big ship (M6, M2,...) you'll never have the struggle to load jumpdrive energy anymore.
The ship needs free cargo space to load automatically the neccessary amount of energy cells. The cells for the jump are loaded into the ship and money for the cells is taken from players account. Energy cost you 16 Cr. each (the average price). If the jump distance you choosed is too far for the loaded amount of energy no jump is performed! But you will find the max amount of energy in your cargo bay which fit's in there. So you can count this amount and perform a jump in the given range of the loaded energy. Depending on ship type the jumpdrive need 5 or 10 cells for each sector and additional 5 or 10 cells for the actual sector.
--------
Before the jump to another sector is performed the script calculates the nearest warpgate to the given target (position or station/big ship). And arrives at this warpgate. In X2 it is possible to arrive at a fourth point after jumping: the center of a sector. But I decided to omit this.
--------
To interrupt a jump. For a remote controlled ship you must choose another command from the navigation menue before the jump is performed. For the playership you only need to press the key "u" (deactivate Autopilot) during the countdown.
--------
If there are escorts of the ship you control to jump. And these ships carry jumpdrive and have enough cargo space for energy. These escorts jump together with the leadership. Their energy cells cost you the amount of 16 Cr/each too! If you perform the In-Sector jump, the escort ships must have installed the Jumpdrive and Boost Extension too to jump together with the leader to the position/docktarget in the same sector!

Other issues
If you perform a jump by pressing SHIFT-J no energy is loaded. This function is not affected by the script. It works the same as in standard X2.

If you follow the storyline of X2 and jump to the Khaak sector to search for the black box: You need to perform this jump by SHIFT-J. So this function works the same as in standard X2 too.

Have fun!

Changed in Version 7.01 - 04/14/2011:
1. Initialization script "init.navsoftwareST1.xml" no longer used.
Instead the initialization now is done by script "setup.navsoftwareST1.xml".
Its mandatory to delete the file "init.navsoftwareST1.xml" in folder scripts after update to version 7.01!
2. Minor changes in language files 4x7776.xml.
3. Minor changes in all scripts.

Changed in Version 6.06 - 10/01/2005:
1. Board computer speaking and sound
Small bugfix: If you interrupt the jump command by pressing 'u' the sound for the sector internal jump was played. I fixed this. Interrupt of the jump command interrups the second task for the sound too now.
Changed the timing of sound and speech again a little bit.
Changed the speech behaviour in 'Jump to Position' to give the ship's control back to the player in shorter time.

Changed in Version 6.05 - 08/28/2005:
1. Board computer speaking and sound
I changed the functionality of audio messages, included audio messages for errors and included a sound for the sector internal jump. Especially to get the right timing for speech and sound with the sector internal jump after the real jump, it was neccessary to write an additional script to earn this like I want. Also if errors occur (for eg. if you try a sector internal jump without boost drive installed) you will hear additional audio messages now.

Changed in Version 6.03 - 05/14/2005:
1. Board computer speaking
Betty speak to you additional text (only for the ship the player uses self).
If Boostdrive for Sektor-Shortjump is installed or not installed the audio messages are a little bit different.
Script command for audio message is available only in X2 Version 1.4! So this audio messages are not available in X2 1.3.
2. Change of Language-xml file
To avoid conflicts each of my script use a separate language xml up from now. This script now use 4x7776.xml instead of 4x7777 like before. Number 4x7777 in future is for Supply Software ST1 only.
3. Main script reprogrammed
Sometimes I recognized a long delay until the ship start to jump. I figuered out that this happens if there is the script command "skip if" directly before the command "use jumpdrive". So I changed the programming of the main script in reason of this behavior.
4. Manual changed
In ZIP enclosed README got several changes.

Changed in Version 6.02 - 04/17/2005:
In Version 6.01 the amount of 120 Cr. for sector-internal jump was taken from the player account. Now the money is taken from homebase if the ship has a homebase. If not, the 120 Cr. are taken from players money.
Several changes in scriptcode (less wait times and other things).

Changed in Version 6.01:
Several minor changes in script code.
Follower ships/escort ships already got the information of the target to perform the jump. But accidentially  they calculated the best target gate again. I fixed this to save cpu consumption.
In version 6.00 the jump inside the same sector cost nothing. I decided to make this not so cheap. All your ships -and especially the TS equipped with my 'Improved Trade Software ST1' - get such a great advantage with this functionality that I think the player should pay for. And 120 Credits per sector internal jump and ship is not so much expensive.

Hi.

I've just installed this, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't do anything at all.

For one thing, there's no Navigation Software 1 V6 or a 1.6 available for purchase in either the Argon or Paranid EqDocks at Argon and Paranid Prime(s).

This made me wonder if it simply updated the already existing Nav Soft 1 that the game is already running.

If so, it should already be installed on all my ships.

However no extra "Jump" option like "Jump and Dock" appears in the menu, and when attempting to "Jump" ordinarily, there was no automatic transfer of Energy Cells, and instead, I was given the message "not enough Energy Cells".

I believe I installed it correctly. All the files from your "script" folder were added into my "X2/scripts", and all the ones from your "t" into my "t".

Can you tell me what I did wrong?

Check carefully the date and time of the files in folder /scripts and files in folder /t. For newest version there should be:

Folder /t
  • 337776.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
    447776.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
    497776.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
Folder scripts
  • init.plugin.navsoftwareST1.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
    plugin.navsoftwareST1.jump.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
    plugin.navsoftwareST1.jumpDck.pl.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
    plugin.navsoftwareST1.jumpPos.pl.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
    plugin.navsoftwareST1.sound.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
    remove.plugin.navsoftwareST1.xml 10/01/2005 6:06
If there is a file with an older date, delete it and copy the new file in the folder.

Hello there.

Thank you for posting and offering help.

I've tried what you suggested, but that didn't seem to be the problem.

I think it was something to do with the scripts being loaded in by the Script Editor(or NOT, as the case may be).

Now, with the Editor opened, I was able to find some files which clearly related to ST1 V606, and as a result, I was able to buy an ST1 at an Argon EqDock.

I then had to get a hold of a few more files through the Script Editor, but I've just managed to test it out and Woohoooo!! It works.

Thanks for you help. Although you didn't isolate quite the EXACT problem, you did nonetheless set me looking in the right area, and for that I am very grateful.

Thank you. :)
