System Override Software (SOS) allows you to claim pilotless ships without having to eject from your current ship.

To use SOS you just need to fly your current ship close enough to the target ship, and then select 'Claim' from the target menu. Exactly how close you need to get depends on the size of your current ship - from thirty metres or so for a fighter up to several hundred metres for a capital ship.

Note: SOS is illegal in many sectors. However, you can mask it from police scans by fitting a Software Signature Scrambler.
