From time to time we may offer "NoSteam" executables for one or more of our games. These can be used to replace the standard executables in an existing Steam installation, whether purchased online or installed from DVD. They allow the game to be played without the Steam client being active, and are intended to help those who have particular difficulties running Steam.
We strongly advise people only to use NoSteam executables if they really need to, since anyone using them will not receive automatic updates and hence will be unsupported. We do not guarantee to release further "NoSteam" executables when patching or updating our games, but should Steam cease operations entirely we would endeavour to ensure that such executables were available for all of our games.
A NoSteam executable is available for X3: Albion Prelude and X Rebirth.
