You need to use the 'Move to position' command.
  • Bring up the ship command console - 'shift-c' (for your personal ship), or select the ship and press 'c' (for a remote ship).

  • Select 'Navigation...'.

  • Select 'Move to position...' - this will bring up the universe map.

  • Select the sector you want the ship to move to - this will bring up the sector map. If you examine the map you will see a green target indicator. The current x/y/z co-ordinates of the indicator are displayed in the bottom right corner of the map.

  • Move the target indicator to the desired co-ordinates using the numpad cursor keys. To alter the y co-ordinate you can press 'Insert' to switch the map display from the x- and z-axis to the x- and y-axis.

  • Once the target indicator is in the right spot, press Enter.
The ship will then engage auto-pilot and head to the co-ordinates.

In X3: Albion Prelude you can also use the 'Move to Coordinates' command, which is available on ships that have the Navigation Command Software Mk1 installed.
  • Bring up the ship command console - 'shift-c' (for your personal ship), or select the ship and press 'c' (for a remote ship).

  • Select 'Navigation...'.

  • Select 'Move to Coordinates' - this will open an input window.

  • Now you have to enter the coordinates in meters you want to fly to, whereby the x and the y coordinate as well as the y and the z coordinate must be seperated by a comma each. For example:

    40,30,20

(To convert the coordinates from meters to kilometers, you can write a 'k' behind the appropriate number. So instead of 40000,30000,20000 you could also write 40k,30k,20k.)

  • Once you have entered the correct coordinates, press Enter.
The ship will then engage auto-pilot and head to the co-ordinates.

Note: The 'Move to Coordinates' command lets your ship only fly to coordinates within its current sector. If you want to send it to another sector you will either have to use the 'Fly to sector' command first and wait until your ship reaches the target sector or you will have to use the 'Move to position...' command mentioned above.
