The workaround for me for large complex FPS drop is to turn off the "More Dynamic Lights" option on GFX settings. To my knowledge, there is no solution for it (meaning, I have to have the flag off and not enjoy the extra bling), and no one is working on the solution as it is not perceived to be an i...

I suspect that in your case AI code is not optimized, but you could try turning off "additional lights" option. I figured that was the culprit in my case with large number of stations.

Thanks for the lengthy response. I am a programmer myself and if I ever coded anything like this the test team would flag this as a bug. And if a bug would not be resolved, it would stay as a known issue that's at least posted in the sticky. I don't have much of an issue turning this off (though I d...

That did help with overall performance I think but that was not the issue. The solution was to turn off "More Dynamic Light Sources". With it off I get 15-20 FPS depending on other settings. If I turn it on, I get like one frame every 5 seconds (0.2FPS). In that messed up mode the menu does not draw...

X3TC Large Complex - Unusable Sector
I believe that there are some common solutions to this problem, but I wasn't able to dig something out with the search function, so sorry if this is repeated. I have a complex with about 40-50 fabs in Mines Of Fortune and running 2.5 vanilla with only tubless complex mod thingie (that doesn't leave ...

There the M* are combat ship classess. The T* are transport ship classes. With M* ship, the general rule of thumb that if you (personally) fly a ship of one class, you can quite easily take on a ship of equal class, most of the time take on a ship of higher class, and rarely take a ship two classes ...

@Kor'ah is correct, without a self sufficient missile producing complex with, at a minimum, three flail fabs and three hammer fabs... Depends on what you intend to use it for. I use my M7M for boarding and a fight mission once in a while. 1 fab of each is quite enough for me. I also deliver them to...

X3TC seems to be more playable for me. A few things thing I noticed (some though I might've missed it from earlier games because i never played them long enough due to the same frustration) : - It seems that AI can build up stations and sectors fairly good. It seems that areas that I "visit" and so ...

Maybe it would be more helpful for you to play X3R first. It has a somewhat more intuitive user interface. For example, you can click on a station with the mouse and get a menu (from which I think there is an option for autopilot). If you don't wanna get bothered with manual docking (Which is faster...

No escorts, no weapons, no drones. For that money just make more UTs and post them in different sectors. Putting weapons can just get UTs it in trouble. Drones are too much hassle. For time you spend on equipping UTs with drones, you could be doing missions to afford more UTs. For money you spend on...

Shift-G (I think, or G) will open your current ship's weapons menu. There you can see where weapons are installed. Sell what? The gun or the Mercury? I am always against putting guns on freighters. They tend to "play smart" and shoot at enemies and things to draw attention, where those enemies might...

No, it's just the effect of microgravity. Ever seen the Space Shuttle stop and turn around while orbiting? Can't happen, or it would be pulled down. Missiles are a physical object, so their propulsion must & guidance system has to take the gravity of the large bodies of mass into account. Exactly! ...

Hmmm... I own retail DVD of 2.0, so I think I used 2.1 -> 2.5 patch cause there was no 2.0 -> 2.5. The patcher accepted that so I assumed it was correct. I think that you should correct this problem by either renaming the biggest patch to ANY VERSION ->2.5 or at least adding 2.0->2.5 for retail cust...

I would generally say that it is "up to your preference", especially given that I am not that experienced with other uses of M7Ms, but if not intended for clearing sectors, I would strongly vote for the Cobra. 150 flails, 100 hammers, 1000 ecells, 20 marines and some cargo to spare are sufficient fo...
