Description
You landed on this page because the game detected an error to start the game.
The issue occurred because the game failed to load a mandatory shader file.
We are aware that this can happen, if mods are involved and either reference a non-existing shader file or remove a mandatory one.
If you don't use any mod or are certain that the mods you are using/developing are not causing the missing shader file issue, please send a mail to prioritysupport@egosoft.com
with the subject set to: "X4-464 - missing shader file", add the crashdump file to your report, the uidata.xml file, and also let us know of anything which you might suspect to trigger the problem for you. This page explains how to locate the crashdump file.
Historical note
Prior to 3.20 Beta 2 Hotfix 1, players were redirected to X4-2 when this issue occurred (or not at all, if the game was running in fullscreen).
