You landed on this page because the game detected an error to start the game.
The issue occurred because the GFX engine ran into a Vulkan out of host memory error.
We are currently investigating the exact conditions which can trigger this problem.
If you run into this problem and want to help us with our investigation, please send a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject set to: "X4-479 - Vulkan out of host memory", add the crashdump file to your report (this page explains how to locate the crashdump file) and add the dxdiag and vulkaninfo too (see this page for instructions on how to retrieve this data).
The underlying issue can occur since release of X4. Even though the behavior differed for earlier versions (see details below) and users weren't redirected to this troubleshooting page, the affected version was set to 1.0 since the actual problem exists since release.
Prior to 3.30 Beta 1, players were reported a different exitcode (Exitcode 1027) and were not redirected to a specific troubleshooting page.
Prior to 3.20 Beta 2 Hotfix 1, players were redirected to X4-2 when this issue occurred (or not at all, if the game was running in fullscreen).
In 3.30 Hotfix 1 Beta 1 a regression slipped in which for some very specific system configurations caused players to end up with this startup error. This issue has been fixed in 3.30 Hotfix 2 Beta 1.
