Welcome to the X4 Wiki! (which everybody can edit)

Welcome to the X4 Wiki.

This wiki allows you to share and update X4-related content with the rest of the community. We hope you find the wiki useful and ask that the spirit of Egosoft's General Forum Rules be followed here on the wiki.

You can modify existing content or create new one. Please note that removing pages is not possible. If you think that a page should be removed, please add the page to the list on the Page Deletion Requests page.

Some initial information about how to post your own content in this wiki can be found here and there's a testground set-up you can freely use without fear to break anything.

If you want to discuss the Wiki, have questions or suggestions, please use the threads set up in the Egosoft forums: support thread.

Please note that while you can use the wiki without having to login, there is no way for users to login. Login is restricted to Egosoft employees and moderators.

Unfortunately, it's outside our capabilities to provide accounts to all our players, since the software running the wiki doesn't provide a suitable license at the moment.

Each wiki page has a "Comment" box for short-term communication (e.g. to query something, or request a little more info). For discussion of a more detailed/permanent nature, the Egosoft forum should be used. Wiki comments will occasionally be move to the Comment archive to keep things tidy and focus content-sharing on page creation/updating.

For people doing translation of the wiki manual, you can find the "How to"-guide here.

Background

X4: Foundations is the seventh instalment in the X Universe video game series developed by Egosoft. The game was released on November 30th, 2018. 

Since release 3 DLCs have been released for the game:

The regular and Collectors Editions of X4: Foundations are available for purchase at the Egosoft online shop, at Steam and at GoG.

Earlier Egosoft software is available to purchase at the Egosoft online shop, Steam, GoG and the MAC Appstore.

    kann das X4 nicht spielen, weil es beim starten abricht. Habe Fehler in der x4.exe .Es fehlt die vulkan-1.dll . wie kann der Fehler behoben werden, über Steam mit neuinstalieren und lokale Dateien überprüfen hat nicht geholfen

    Hallo, habe auch das Problem das X4 nicht mehr startet. Habe alles was in troubleshooting startup errors gibt kontrolliert. Meine AMD 3GB R9 200 / 7900 hat angeblich Vulkan und ich hatte es schon seit Release gespielt gehabt ohne Probleme. Jetzt wird es zwar "angeblich" gestartet, jedoch taucht es im Taskmanager nur unter Prozesse ganz unten auf mit 55k. Nicht jedoch in den Anwendungen. Was läuft da schief? Ich habe auch zwischenzeitlich auf SSD umgestellt jedoch ist da Standardmäßig der Rapidmode ausgeschaltet. Habe das nochmal mit dem Magician gechecked. 

    Mir fehlen die Ideen warum das nicht startet. ;(

      Kurzer Nachtrag noch dazu: Non-Steam exe. das gleiche Problem und ja die Vulkan ist auf der Graka mit neuesten Treiber 2.0.116 sowie API Version 1.1.125.  Ich benutze Win7 Ultimate. Hatte ich vergessen zu erwähnen. Einen Fehler oder Fehlermeldung oder sowas bekomme ich leider nicht angezeigt.

        Hallo Impi,

        Bitte schau doch einmal auf der Troubleshooting startup errors Seite vorbei und schaue ob dort dein Fehler, unter den dort beschriebenen zu finden ist. Sollte dein Fehler dort nicht zu finden sein, sind dort auch die weiteren Schritte, die du ergreifen kannst beschrieben.

    hatte das schon alles durchprobiert und nun auch im Forum gepostet  https://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=183&t=420748

    jedoch noch nichts weiter geschehen, kann immer noch nicht starten.

    Wie kann ich mich im Wiki registrieren? Ich finde nur die Möglichkeit mich anzumelden, aber das funktioniert mit den Forum-Logindaten nicht und ich habe keine Möglichkeit zur Registrierung beim Wiki gefunden.

    Hallo,
    leider ist es uns derzeit nicht möglich, jedem Spieler einen eigenen Account zur Verfügung zu stellen, da die zugrunde liegende Software des Wikis derzeit keine passende Lizenz anbietet. Du kannst dennoch die Seiten entsprechend bearbeiten und die Kommentarfunktion unter Beiträgen nutzen. Wenn du Fragen hast, kannst du auch gerne die Moderatoren MrMack1793 oder Xeelee2  für den deutschsprachigen Raum anschreiben.

    Ciao,

    sono un neofita del gioco X4 Foundations, mentre ho giocato tutti gli altri X. Con X4 ho molte difficoltà a gestire i Controller in gioco. I miei controller sono quelli classici: tastiera, mouse e Joystick Logiteck Force 3D Pro, ma probabilmente sono configurati molto male in quanto la mappa ruota vorticosamente in verticale e si ferma solo quando la riduco ai minimi termini, in volo il Joystick funziona relativamente con rotazioni difficilmente controllabili ed infine il  mouse gestisce male le direttrici di volo come nel caso degli attracchi.

    Ho bisogno di qualcuno che mi faccia avere i dati per una configurazione funzionante, altrimenti non posso godere di questo splendido gioco. Grazie

    Is there another X4 wiki somewhere? This looks like a great game - and there was even a recent update... but I just cannot play this game. Why? ... One reason... there is no list compiled of all of the ships in the game, and their stats. I am not a "random bumbler" who randomly bumbles his way through a game... I hate those kinds of games. I bought this game, and played it for about two hours. I realized that I needed to plan for what my goals were, and what ship I wanted - like in "Elite: Dangerous" - very easy to do, because every ship and weapon in the game is all listed on their wiki. So I come here...  This game has been out since 2018, and there isn't even so much as a partial database of ships and weapons?!? Is there another wiki somewhere, or am I just unable to find the right pages, or is this game really that bad, that no one, even the devs, ever compiled a list?

      You could also try Roguey's X4 site if you can't find what you are looking for here https://roguey.co.uk/x4/ships/

      Please be aware that in X4, ship stats can be effected a lot by the equipment you fit and so you may find tables of stats contradicting each other from different sources depending on whether the person that gathered the data used the base lowest-tier equipment or something higher

    Hello everyone, I have a question. I have been looking through the ships listed here, and there are a lot of them - I can't seem to decide what to get. I know what I want, just not sure which one is the one that fits the description - I want the most powerful ship - the one that cuts through others like a hot knife through butter. I want the ship that is capable of placing the most destructive firepower downrange, as fast as possible... I'm not looking for the fastest ship. or the toughest ship, but the one that is like a wolverine or a honey-badger - the one that is the most feared ship. I'm not interested in shield strength, or speed... just which ship can put the most firepower onto it's single target at a time - that ship - Does anyone know which ship that is?

      Some people favour the Odysseus as the capital ship of their fleet when focusing on pure stats and ignoring other factors (e.g. looks). I'm not sure which destroyer class has the most turrets with forward firing arcs, which might be what you are looking for. You are likely to receive more opinions if you post this question to either the Egosoft or Steam forums for X4.

    Ich kann nur Seiten auf Englisch bearbeiten. Bei Seiten auf Deutsch fehlt bei mir der "Bearbeiten"-Button.

      Hallo,

      die Originalseiten sind alle auf Englisch. Somit ist die Bearbeiten Funktion auch nur dort verfügbar. Möchtest du eine deutsche Seite bearbeiten, musst du auf "Übersetzen" klicken. Dann kommst du auch direkt in die Bearbeiten Übersicht, nur dass du nebenan das Original der englischen Seite dabei hast.

      I dont speak Russian, but if I understand your question correctly then the answer is:
      The station is a crucial Part of the Split Plot. It is invincible until the point it has to get destroyed during the Plot itself.

      Achte bitte darauf, dass du deinen Fehler so genau wie möglich schilderst, damit dir geholfen werden kann (Was möchtest du erreichen? Was passiert stattdessen? Was klickst du an? Bekommst du eine Fehlermeldung und wenn ja wie lautet diese? In wie weit erfüllt du die Mindestvorraussetzung des Spieles?)

    Hallo Zusammen,

    ich habe foldendes Problem.

    Das Spiel(PC) friert bei 87% des Ladebalken ein, jedoch nur beim Neustart eines Spieles. Die Turorials lassen sich starten.

    Ich habe bereits alle Treiber aktualisiert, leider ohne Erfolg.

    Seit dem letzten Update " Gezeiten und Habgier" kann ich das Spiel nicht mehr starten,was vorher noch möglich war.

    Habe auch schon das Spiel neu Instliert das gleiche Ergebnis. Bin etwas ratlos was ich noch versuchen kann.
