New Stations

Several new stations have been added, primarily shipyards for each of the factions that has separate ship producing capabilities:

  • Capital Shipyard/Large BTO Shipyard/Civ Ship Dockyard/Civ Ship Parts Lot/Pirate Dockyard/Pirate Tech Ship Complex - a bunch of new shipyards for the new factions and production methods.
  • Xenon Matrix (shipyard) - A XL/L/M/S shipyard used by the Xenon, this station is unique in that it also produces ship fuel and energy cells from raw ores and gasses. It is constantly churning out M/S ships with no production costs to them.
  • Xenon Matrix (drones) - A drone production facility that turns vast amounts of raw gasses and ore directly into ship parts, which fuel its own ability to craft drones.
  • Xenon Matrix Mk1 - A ship part production facility that turns vast amounts of raw gasses and ore directly into ship parts.
  • Xenon Matrix Mk2 - A ship part (weapons) production facility that turns vast amounts of raw gasses and ore directly into ship part (weapons).
  • Xenon Station - A ship part production facility that turns vast amounts of raw gasses and ore directly into ship parts. A lot larger than the Mk1, this station also makes fuel and energy cells, and can refuel ships.
  • Ship dock - A warehouse that can also store ships and fuel.
  • Overwatch - Different configurations of the Plutarch overwatch are available for building by Nav Beacon or by certain CVs. The nav beacon one doesn't use a station slot though, and can be built anywhere.
  • Targon Tracer - Nav beacon only, doesn't use a station slot.
  • Weapon Platform - the Xenon one you see around their stations and in asteroid fields. Nav beacon only, doesn't use a station slot.
  • Weapon Platform Sentinel - the Khaak one. Nav beacon only, doesn't use a station slot.
  • Border station - A giant station with 12 Targon Tracers. It can shred Xenon I's IS or OOS without a problem. You can also drop it next to an enemy station if you want to have a little fun. Available for building by Nav Beacon or by certain CVs. The nav beacon one doesn't use a station slot though, and can be built anywhere.

Building you own Shipyard and Unique Stations

A CV can technically build any station now, but you must first get the Station blueprint!

  • Step 1. Get blueprint:
    • You need a Architect (and just in case, an Engineer) at the Skunk. Have a conversation with your Architect when you are docked at a Station (the Blueprint you want) by calling them remote (Enter-7-1)
      •  at relation mid Member (≥28) you get it for free
      •  at relation Friend, you need to pay a fee
      •  at relation neutral, you can steal the blueprint: but here you need a good skilled Architect and Engineer to have only a small chance, if your heist is discovered the station will become hostile for up to 24h
  • Step 2. preset blueprint at a CV:
    • You need the CV (or more then one if you like) in your Squad at the local Zone.
    • Talk to your Skunk-Architect and select the Station you want to build (if you have blueprints), then set the Blueprint to all or only a selected CV.
    • Use the CV like always, with selection of a buildspot, or order to build at a Zone (option 6) by talking to Architect
      • Then you can use the regular Stations the CV do build (option 1), or you can Order the "Special Blueprint" you assigned (option 2 or 6). The left option builds only the base Station as always, right (Full) will hire a contractor to build the station up to max.

Contractors

Since finding all the resources to build a station piece by piece is time consuming and requires micro-management, you can now hire a contractor to build a station. When you're on the final stage of the station customization (after you pick the upgrades), your Architect will ask if you want to hire a contractor to build the whole thing for you, and sell the station to you afterward. You have 3 options for contractors:

  1. Slow - uses local resources to build, but can be cheaper if you have a few stations that are making components.
  2. Fast - the contractor hires ACME to supply them with resources to build. Provides a quick stream of resources.
  3. Ready to use - the best contractor, uses ACME supply and will also fully equip the station with drones and ammo. Most expensive.

If you don't have enough money for the station (the contractors are clearly Teladi and make up their own prices after they finish), they'll sell it to the highest bidder in the local area. This could be taken advantage of to fix a hole in a sector's economy.

Deconstruction

Don't want a station anymore? You can call the station's engineer (yes, you can finally have an engineer like the NPCs do (smile) )  and have the option to fully remove a single storage/production module, or whole buildsteps if you have removed the manager. The engineer can nobly sacrifice themselves to fully deconstruct the station but sometimes they make mistakes and blow up their own module before they finish the others, resulting in some pretty useless station parts laying there. You might just want to sell the station to an enemy faction and let your ships destroy it. After about 24 hours, a completely destroyed station wreck WILL BE REMOVED, opening up that build space for another station.

i don't seem to be able to destroy a station anymore, i was attacking one of the REI stations and got it to 0% hull and it merely lost its faction ownership but is still there slowly repairing itself
