The weeks are flying by, and we are getting closer and closer to the release of the big 4.00 update for X4: Foundations, and of course our next expansion, X4: Cradle of Humanity, on March 16, 2021. That means that it's time for a new beta release!

The focus of Beta 9 is on further improvements to combat simulation, mining, workforce, and capital ship movement between sectors. You can find the full list in our forum.

How do I participate in the public beta?
Every player who owns X4: Foundations will have the opportunity to download the new beta version 4.00. To ensure that beta participants are aware of the Risks and Rules, we ask that all interested players visit our forum for both rules and disclaimers, as well as practical instructions on how to participate in the beta. If you've been looking for videos about X4: Foundations on YouTube over the past nine months, you'll have no doubt come across Captain Collins' channel. During this time, the content creator has published a number of helpful YouTube videos about the game, and inspired his live viewers through regular livestreams on Twitch.

In a special broadcast, Egosoft CEO and founder Bernd Lehahn will attend the Captain Collins livestream on February 25, 2021 (4pm CET / 3pm GMT / 10am EST / 7am PST).

Among other things, the conversation will cover the current status of X4: Foundations and the soon to be released 4.00 update, as well as the new expansion X4: Cradle of Humanity. Captain Collins will also incorporate a few questions from the live chat.

The livestream will take place on Captain Collins' Twitch channel (twitch.tv/CaptainCollins), and will also be hosted on our own channel (twitch.tv/egosoftofficial).

Han pasado algunos meses desde nuestro anuncio de X4: Cuna de la Humanidad en gamescon 2020, y el inicio de la fase beta para la actualización 4.00 para X4: Foundations. Gracias a los enormes esfuerzos del equipo, quienes han estado trabajando desde sus hogares por casi un año, podrémos dar la bienvenida al siguiente capítulo en nuestra simulación espacial en X4: Foundations.

We're making great strides towards the big release of our 4.00 update and the new X4: Cradle of Humanity expansion. You've probably got used to how this works by now, so it will come as no surprise that we've released another new beta version for 4.00! Download the new version now and dive in.

Among other things, beta 7 includes the following changes:

• A new Emergency Eject feature that places you in your space suit if your ship gets destroyed.
  
• The next iteration of the Terraforming feature.
  
• More improvements to the way miners make use of resource probes.
  
• Better simulation of combat in distant sectors.
  
• More details in to the Transaction Log.
  
• Lots more juicy bugs squashed.

Han pasado más de dos años desde el lanzamiento de X4: Foundations, y muchos de ustedes han jugado por cientos de horas. ¡Nos da mucho gusto! Si te has preguntado qué más podrías hacer en X4: Foundations, entonces sigue leyendo, porque esto es para ti en especial.

Para aquellos de ustedes con una gran cantidad de recursos, estamos añadiendo una nueva actividad para el fin de juego en 4.00. Esta involucra iniciar proyectos para mejoras planetarias, incluyendo varios tipos de desarrollos infraestructurales, con el objetivo de volver a planetas específicos habitables. A esto le llamamos "Terraformación" y puede que ya nos hayas escuchado hablar sobre esto en nuestra transmisión en vivo de gamescom 2020.

En lo que se refiere al juego, llevarán a cabo misiones nuevas las cuales sirven como punto de entrada a la opción de Terraformación. Se crearán asentamientos, y los panoramas podrán cambiar por medio de la inversión de tiempo y recursos. Y, como si la idea de cambiar al universo no fuese suficientemente emocionante, incluso podrían haber otras recompensas.

¡Queremos dejar claro que – no podrás aterrizar en ningún planeta! Sin embargo, sí podrán involucrarse en ellos mucho más a profundo de lo que lo han hecho en otros juegos de la serie X hasta hoy. Estamos deseosos de escuchar sobre sus experiencias con esta nueva opción, en especial si son unos de esos pilotos de fin de juego.

New week, new beta! The sixth public beta for the 4.00 update of X4: Foundations is now available to download.

We've fixed an unfortunate gas resource depletion issue that was introduced in beta 5 last week. If you're using a 4.00 beta 5 savegame, we're topping up gas to 50% of the cargo hold on all stations that need gas as a resource, to get your production processes rolling again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Among other things, beta 6 also includes:

• Several enhancements to the new Coordinated Attack feature.
  
• Fixes and adjustments to the new Terraforming feature.
  
• Better map behaviour when you are under Cover for a mission.
  
• As always, various other improvements and fixes.
